A/N: Apologies for the delay. Christmas break made me (surprisingly) busier than usual. Happy holidays :)

There was only silence on the other side of the door when Bongbong Marcos arrived outside Leni's room.
He had stayed hidden and watched the presidential convoy heading out of the hospital. He was thankful not to have ran into Digong, he didn't know what the man would do to him if he found out he was trying to get to Leni. He waited for a few more minutes before he decided it was safe for him to go inside the building.
He had his car parked just outside so he would have no problems escaping when the need arises. He can't get caught.
Bongbong got in without a lot of fuss and slipped into a white lab gown, easily blending in with the group of doctors. That was how he was able to arrive outside Leni's room. It was sneaky and he had to disguise himself with glasses and a mustache, but he was able to pull through it.
He turned the knob and snuck inside the room. It was a lot easier than he thought it would be.
He saw her. She was asleep. It would be so easy for him to get done with it right away but, he needed to do this the right way.
He took off his disguise and approached her bed. "Leni," he whispered. He placed a hand on her shoulder and nudged her awake.
She slowly opened her eyes and upon recognizing the person in front of her, she almost screamed. If it was not for the hand he placed over her mouth she would've woken up the entire hospital.
"Shhh...hindi kita sasaktan," he whispered. "Kailangan lang kitang makausap."
She obviously did not trust him. How could she when he barged into her room as sly as a thief?
She shook her head. She did not trust him one bit.
"Sorry. Please, hindi kita sasaktan. Just hear me out," he pleaded his eyes softened as he tried to convince her that she was safe with him.
She scrutinized him carefully. Her eyes turning to slits before she finally nodded. Leni wanted to give the man who had barged inside her room, in the dead of the night, a chance.
He loosened his hold on her. "Thank you," he said.
"Bakit ka nandito?" She cut to the chase. "Ano bang gusto mong sabihin."
"Gusto ko lang humingi ng tawad sa mga nagawa ko sayo," he began. She looked at him confused. She didn't know what he was talking about. "Sorry sa lahat."
"Hindi kita maintindihan. Bakit ka humihingi ng tawad?" She asked not knowing that he was behind everything.
"Because I," he looked at her with shame and guilt, "wanted to have you...killed."
"Anong...anong pinagsasabi mo?" She was starting to get scared. What did he mean by saying he wanted to have her killed? Was he the man behind the assassination attempt? But Digong was the one who was supposed to be killed right?
She started to distance herself from him, shifting her body out of his reach.
"Ikaw," he looked at her with a dark expression. He paused for a while. There was a sudden change in his demeanor as if a switch inside his head had been flipped. "You should've died," he spoke almost to himself. "Bakit kinailangan mo pang magising? Ayos ma sana eh."
