Present

After learning about the source of the message from his PNP Chief, the president decided to halt the investigations. If what he was assuming was true then that means Honeylet knew the identity of this crime's mastermind.

He wanted to talk to her before he could investigate any further. If she did have the answers then there was no need for the police to waste their time on looking for the perpetrator.

The skies had began to darken as the presidential plane flew up in the air. Estimated time of arrival would be by midnight. Soon all he could see from the window was darkness. A bottomless pit that he also felt in his gut. He was horrified of the truths that lay waiting to be uncovered, but he needed to do what needed to be done. It was the only way to end all of this. It was the only way for him to atone for his deadly sin. It was the only way he could even consider himself worth the forgiveness he was seeking.

He arrived at his house without much fanfare. His PSG were surrounding the area and he had asked to be left by himself when he entered his own home. It had always been his request to have the privacy he needed whenever he was in Davao.

He parked his motorcycle outside and rang the doorbell. He knew she would surely be home by this hour.

There was a look of shock on Honeylet's face as she opened the gates. She had obviously just woken up from her sleep. He had not informed her that he would be coming to Davao.

"Oh? Hindi ko alam na uuwi ka pala ngayon?" She opened the gates wider and let him through.

"Last minute decision," he said as he walked inside the house and sat on the couch. He hated the fact that he felt so guarded even now when he was in his own home. He should be calm and relaxed but he wasn't - he couldn't even allow himself such luxury when he was so close to finding the answers he had been wanting.

"Bakit? May nangyari ba?" Honeylet asked from the kitchen. She was making his favorite coffee. She always did this whenever he was home. Today was the first time he had come home this year. He had been so busy with the investigations that he was not even able to spend time with Honeylet and his daughter for the holidays.

"Kailangan nating mag-usap," Digong said as she set the cup down on the table in front of him.

"Anong pag-uusapan natin?" She asked as she sat down.

"Honeylet sabihin mo sa akin. May tinatago ka ba na dapat kong malaman?"

She turned her head left and then right, confused as to what her partner was alluding to.

"Wala akong tinatago, Digong. Hindi kita maintindihan."

"Alam mo kung anong ibig kong sabihin. Alam mo kung anong gusto kong malaman."

"Paano ko naman malalaman? Eh, wala ka namang sinasabi sa akin."

"I'm giving you the chance to confess."

"I have nothing to confess."

Digong took a deep breath in and then out. So this is how it was going to be. He never thought this would be easy anyway.

"Fine. If you don't want to admit then I will make you admit what you did."

She crossed her arms. She was starting to get a bit defensive. She knew what he was after and she was not going to let her defenses down. She knew Digong enough to know that he tries to extract the truth from you in whatever way he can.
