My mom dropped me off early because she had a job interview, it was 7:30 in the morning and school started at 8:45.
I walked along the parking lot, stepping on the yellow lines and I thought back when my Dad used to teach me how to drive in our own private parking lot. Walking to my locker, while the lights and security cameras were still off, I heard distance footsteps. As I fiddled through my books and binders in my locker I heard the footsteps becoming louder and louder, squeak squeak squeak. They were the sound of old tennis shoes, as the squeaking stopped, I looked up, and gasped. "What are you doing here so early?" he asked, it was my homeroom teacher, the one I had met just yesterday morning. "I was dropped off by my mom, she had a meeting." I tried to sound strong. "Oh well, so that means she's gone right? And I've checked the school, no one has come in yet, just you and me." he said with a smirk, I gave a look of horror and I started to run. Turning and screaming I couldn't stop running, I thought about what would happen if I stop. And as I ran faster and faster around the school the squeaking stopped. I ran to the nearest exit, and sprinted to the nearest car for help. I banged on the black set window of the blue Honda, "Help!" I screamed, "Im being chased!" I gasped still banging on the window. As the person unlocked the back of his car I dashed to get in, "Thank you so much." I smiled and pushed forward to look at the driver. I was stuck frozen, it was him again. "You little bitch. You think you're so fast and smart, getting into a random strangers car, are you stupid?" he chuckled. In a fast paced he climbed in the back and started to grab me, he ripped my sweater off while I started to cry, I screamed for help. He took my sweater and jabbed it into my throat. I was choking on the sweater my grandmother bought me just right before she died. I tried breaking my hands free, but they were tied with the seat belts. A cry of help came across my head, and he started to take my shirt off. This is it, it thought to myself.
I woke up with my mom by my side. The room was bright and vibrant, I was on a bed with blue sheets, I was in the hospital. "Oh honey, you're awake." my mom still had a worried look on her face but she smiled with relief. "Where's Dad?" I asked, I looked around wondering why he wasn't there. "Oh honey, he's at work. He finally found a job." she squealed with excitement. Work is more important than me, I thought, money is more important than me."Can we come in?" Eli and Maggie's heads popped up on the side of the door. "Come in." I said smiling. Eli sat by me, while Maggie stood up, they both held my hand. "Are you okay?" they asked in sync, I laughed, hard. I didn't know I laughed, but it was the similar feeling I felt when I was bKack home, happiness. Maggie and Eli didn't ask why I was laughing, they just laughed along. "I'll get you guys something to eat." my mom said happily. As soon as she walked out of the room I asked, "Does anybody know what happened?" the both nodded. "Where is he?" I asked quick. "In jail, he's being questioned right now." Eli said, Maggie turned her head and closed her eyes as if she remembered something. "What's wrong Maggie?" I was worried, "Nothing, I'm just damn happy that he's in jail." Maggie responded. The room went quiet and Maggie began to continue, "Freshman year, I was constantly molested by him. He always followed me and watched me over," she sniffled, "But then Maggie and Zeke saved me, that's how we all became friends. We never had enough power to report him, but because of you, we could." and that's when she started to cry. I'd thought that Eli would start crying also, but she just smiled, "Thank you." Eli whispered to me. "No, thank you." I said gratefully, Eli and Maggie looked at me, confused. "We didn't save you, we just came to visit you, we ran as soon as we heard." They said together. "Then who did?" I asked, and just on cue they said, "It was Zeke who saved you."
