Somi was in the public library to read a history book. For her reading history on the monitor screen just makes it more boring. At least holding a book would be inviting to read.
Of course the only kids there are from other schools. Because apparently Seoul High only cares about their next instagram post and not studying
But today it's different.
Sohye, Pinky and Yoojung came inside the library for the first time to give Somi a surprise visit. They frightened her from the back, making her scream.
"Shuuuushhht! This is a library." this guy from Yuehua Academy reminded them.
"Shut up nerd!" Sohye mocked before unfolding this paper on Somi's table. It was an eye surgery coupon. 50% off.
"We got this in Myeongdong and we thought about you instantly." Sohye said.
"You would look more Asian if you have a mono lid." Sohye said. "You won't look like a mutt anymore. Your will look less of a freak." the three of them laughed.
"I'm so sorry but this is a library. Kindly exit the place before I call security." the librarian warned.
Somi bit her lips, bitterly closing the history book, then stood up.
"Oh no, not you sweety. You can read the book quietly like before they came in." she said.
"Eeww! It's not like we wanted to stay in this dusty place anyway!" Sohye said before pointing on the coupon. "This expires today." she said before leaving.
Somi stared at the coupon, and then the history book. Then her wrist watch. She closed the book once again then took the coupon, when someone grabbed it away, tearing it to pieces.
He sat on the chair next to Somi, making her sit down.
"You don't want to do that to yourself." he said. "Those girls have fixed their eyes so they can achieve yours and then they try to change you."
Somi couldn't answer, because deep down inside she knew that he's right.
"You're in an international school. You should be running the school." the Yuehua student also joined the conversation. "They keep you in line so you won't get the idea that the school is yours." he said before standing up. He's really tall because of those long skinny legs.
"I'm Lee Daewhi by the way, I live near your house. I see you every morning. And I think you're beautiful." he said before taking his book to continue his homework.
