"hey" millie whispered, looking up at finn, she was laying down with her head rested in his lap, again
"hey, finn" millie whispered again in attempt to wake him out of his trance. sighing, she bought her fingers to where his eyes met them, snapping them loudly
"hmm" he responded looking down at her, with a hint of a smile visible on his face.
"what were you thinking about?" millie asked, still whispering since everyone was sleepy from the early wake up that morning
"i don't really know" finn said removing his eyes from millies, to the window beside them "life"
millie nodded, closing her eyes again in attempt to fall asleep, even though it was only 8pm
"do you know where calebs taking us next?" millie spoke up again, still keeping her eyes shut
"no clue, he won't tell anyone but sadie, and that's if she's lucky enough" finn laughed, sitting up a bit too see if sadie was still sleeping and to his surprise, she wasn't
"what's the deal with those two anyways?" millie said grabbing the laces that hung from finns hoodie, twisting them around with her fingers
"caleb likes her" finn laughed again, before quickly covering his mouth in shock. "shit" he said, still trying to remain quiet
"it's okay" millie said placing her hand over his "i wont tell her" she finished with a comforting smile before awkwardly, pulling her hand away
"thanks" finn whispered, still feeling guilty that he'd done caleb like that, considering he was the only one that knew
"if it makes you feel better, i think sadie might like him too" millie spoke up again, bringing her hands back to the strings on his jumper.
finn nodded, looking back out the window. eventually, millie came to the realisation that she couldn't get to sleep, so she sat up next to finn
millie studied finns expressions carefully. the way his eyebrows squinted together every now and then, telling her he was deep in thought. very, deep in thought
"are you okay?" millie asked, actually growing worried as to how stressed he seemed to be looking
"yeah" finn replied laughing, to ease the awkward tension he realised he'd just caused.
"just, studying the stars" he added keeping his eyes locked with millies that moved them-self from his to the outside.
"so beautiful" finn said
"they really are" millie replied, a smile tugging at her lips now understanding why finn loved the sky so much
"im not talking about the stars" finn whispered, his eyes still on hers, not caring to move once millie looked back
she wanted to look down, so bad. but she couldnt bring herself too. it didn't feel like the majority of there awkward stare offs, it almost felt as if he was trying to tell her something, with his eyes
a smile formed on his lips, before breaking the silence. "we should sleep" he spoke up, laying down leaving millie just enough room to sleep next to him since that was, his intentions
"okay" millie sighed into her words, not wanting to go sleep at all.
quickly, millie slammed her side into the seat, practically throwing herself beside finn on the verge of falling
having the quick reflexes he did, finn held her up by pushing her back forward with one of hand, and in the process, bringing her face even closer to his
millie didn't quite understand what he was doing, in all honesty neither did he, but he went with it
keeping his left arm around her, finn brought his right one to her face that was stuck still, rubbing his thumb over her cheek lightly
to finns surprise, millie was the first one to lean in, slow, but her actions were still noticeable
eventually they got to the position to where only there forheads were touching even though it felt like hours since they both started leaning in
"is this okay?" finn whispered so quietly, that if she was any further away, she wouldn't of been able to hear. he then loosened his grip around her face the slightest bit
millies answer was very straight forward, where she didn't even hesitate to fill the small space left between them, connecting there lips in what had felt like the first time in what they had waited forever to do.
finn smiled into it, pushing her closer to him if it were even possible, wanting the savour the moment as much as he could before she pulled away, which she did moments later
finn contemplated on whether or not to try and kiss her again, but decided not to push it right now, since after all- it was his first kiss
millie was the first to open her eyes, more so shocked that she actually had the confidence to do something like that. she couldn't see finns face well due to the darkness around them, but she did know that his eyes were still closed
"i really like you, millie" finn blurted out, the contemplation noticeable in his words
millie smiled, no longer caring if he were to see her do so, she was happy
"i like you too finn" she said, laying her head on his chest, listening to the way his heartbeat slowed down after every breathe he took
"more than a friend?" millie replied again, bringing her memory back to the conversation the night before
"we can't anymore, for sadie and caleb remember?" finn replied
millie felt her heart drop, was this why he is being so nice to her? because sadie and caleb told him to?
"right" she said so quietly, she wasn't even sure finn would've heard her
"this doesn't have to be anything more two friends making the best out of a bad situation" finn said wrapping his arms around her tighter.
although them both knowing they want it to be more than 'just friends'
millie smiled at his actions, but dropped at his words. "yeah" she said taking a small breathe.
"just friends"
finn closed his eyes again, remembering the conversation clearly himself.
"more than friends" he smiled before holding her close as she started to drift off to sleep
