One Week Later
I gripped my coffee mug and took a sip, glancing at the door. I sighed when there was no sign of her. God, where is she.
Currently, I was seated at a two seated table in Starbucks, waiting for the tiny brunette to walk through the door.
Specifically, Daya Bass.
Daya was finally back from Canada. I couldn't be happier. I've known her since I was in diapers. It's been forever since I last saw her.
She traveled to Canada four years ago to get the passport and is finally back. She came back last year for a visit, but we didn't spend much time together since I had to travel myself to Lebanon.
As if on que, she walked through the door, her honey brown eyes scanning the cafè. Finally, they landed on me and she squealed. I stood up as she ran towards me and we hugged the crap out of each other. She pulled away and looked at me in disbelief. I looked her up and down.
We always had the same style. She was practically a copy of me.
Daya was wearing a similar hoodie to mine with jeans and chucks. Her brown hair in a low pony tail and her lips covered in lipgloss. Her big, black framed glasses were different than her old ones. She was beyond beautiful and has changed drastically.
Puberty did a number on her.
"Omg. Ana? Anastasia? Anastasia Carter? Anastasia Lynn Carter, is that really you?" She squeaked poking my cheek, as if to see if it was really me.
"Yup, in the flesh and blood." I said and she hugged me again.
"God, I missed you so freaking much. Oh my, talking on Snapchat and Skype was not enough at all. I still can't believe I'm here. In person!" She rambled on.
"Look at you. Just as talkative as you used to be." I said and she flipped me off. I shooed her off to get her drink, Daya laughed and walked away, coming back with a drink in her hands and a glint in her honey brown eyes.
Uh-oh.
"Update me, come on its been years." She nagged.
I told her about everything that happened the past year she was away. The park next to our houses was renovated, my mom bought a new car, I finally came over my fear of water slides, Yas Water World opened, my parents made me drop dancing and gym, and last but not least my current crush on Caleb.
"Ooohh. Ana has a crush." Daya winked at me.
"Oh, stop it you. Or I will send you back to Canada-- packing."
"Never!" She screamed and we earned a few annoyed stares from the people around us.
"I need deats." She whined.
"Okay. Okay." I gave in.
I described him in the most deliberate way possible. Exaggerating every single detail about him that was normal. She was wide eyed and very alerted by the time I was done.
"I need to see a picture." Daya demanded.
I pulled out my phone from the pocket of my hoodie and typed in his Instagram handle. I swiftly went through the small amout of pictures he had and picked out one of him shirtless.
"Ooohh! She got good taste too." Daya smirked at me under the rim of her coffee mug, "So when are you gonna ask him out?"She said putting down her mug.
I choke on the sip of coffee that I was taking and broke into a heap of coughs.
Damn it!
