Getting ready in the morning didn't take much time. Since I have already taken a shower the day before, I threw on my school uniform, a pair of big baggy grey pants and a white polo shirt. It was the first day of school, 8th grade, and I need to make a good first impression. Even though I've been in the same school with the same enemies and friends my entire life, their impression matters after a three month summer holiday.
"Ana, hurry up! William is done! It's almost seven o'clock!" My mom yelled from her bedroom.
"Okay! Just putting on my shoes." I answered back.
With that, I put on socks, slipped my Vans on, threw my hair into a high bun and slung my bag over my shoulder, which was may I add, heavier than me, despite my excess weight. Then called for my brother and headed for the door. After my mom's mini rant about me not having breakfast, I agreed to a small bun with Nutella and a cup of milk.
The drive to school was nerve wracking. Will they like me? Are they going to make fun of me? Did new students come? Did I get a good set of teachers? Millions of questions swum threw my mind.
"Here we are!" My mom screeched, breaking me out of my '100 questions with Ana'. I looked out of the car window to see the school walls lined up with colorful flags each saying 'Welcome Back :)' and that baffled me since they have thoes same flags up for the first week of school every year.
My brother tumbled from the car with a swift 'bye mom' and took off to class. Where as, I just took my sweet time in saying bye to my mom. With a hug and a tiny kiss to the cheek, I was good for the day.
Seeing my friends gave me a silver of hope that this year would be better than the last. June was my first friend to hurl herself at me giving me a tight hug, despite her being cute and tiny, she sure gave big & tight bear hugs. Lillian, Bianca, and Jennifer were next each asking me a ton of questions about my summer. After 10 minutes of us exchanging what went down in summer, the rest of the squad showed up. All yelling 'Ana!' and drowning me in hugs.
"Omg you lost weight!" Sophia yelled.
"Noooooo! I gained." I answered back.
"Ugh you always say that!" She ended by gigging.
I then pointed out that she's the one that did and she nodded frantically and squeaked while jumping up and down on her toes, thanking me for noticing.
Christina approached me and gave me a big hug too. She was my secret keeper I guess you could say. So we chatted and gossiped about our summer crushes and what-not.
It was now ten minutes till eight o'clock, so the head supervisor called out for all the students to head to class. I rechecked my section and walked with Sophia and Lillian, since they were the only part of the squad that was in my section, to class.
I walked into class and spotted the cutest teacher ever! She was gorgeous, cute, and her sence of style was great. She was dressed in a knee lengthed patterned skirt, a pink blouse, and a pair of black stilletoes. Her brown lightly dip-dyed hair was curly and hung loose down to her shoulders, her lips were full and heart shaped and her brows were drawn by God himself.
"Good morning 8G! Welcome back to school! My name is Miss Morfett and I will be your English and History teacher for this year." She said in a very appealing British accent.
After going over a few basic rules, we started our lesson. Only for the bell to ring fifteen minutes later. I was sure that English will be my favorite subject this year. The lesson after that was math, and I was thrilled to see that my teacher from last year is my same teacher this year. A young brunette called Miss Mary.
The class flew by fast. After that was French. Jennifer and a girl who I've never seen walked in. I assumed she was a new girl, and Jennifer is too nice not to help her. I took a quick glance at her and didn't gawk at her, not to freak her out.
Miss Chloè was our french teacher this year. She was very pretty, blonde, tall, broad sholders, and icey blue eyes. I was late to take a seat so I was stuck sitting at the back of class with the new girl. I glanced at her copybook to try and catch a glimpse of her name. 'Rabecca' was written in big, bold letters along the bottom.
"Hi my name is Ana, nice to meet you." I beamed, trying to make a good first impression, while whispering low enough for only her to hear.
"Becca," she said, "Nice to meet you too." She ended it with a half-smile.
She looked nice. Short charcoal black hair, and a petit silhouette. I don't really know details since I didn't look at her much.
Moments later the door swung open, without a knock, and the breath was knocked out of me....
