"Mary, great job, sweat-heart," Troy's dad said once he limbed in the door way. "Troy! You're here."
""Yay I am," Troy said grabbing Gabriella's hand and squeezing it as his beaming smile fell off his face.
"Why haven't I seen you on the court this season, I know the rumours aren't true about you quieting basketball; you love the game so much."
"Actually, it is my brother that loves basketball not Troy. With no disrespect your son hated playing in the NBA. To keep him happy while living only your dream out he was taking drugs and doing more stupid things. The Troy Bolton that was playing for the Lakers, I hated. My brother loves basketball, he loves watching it, before he wreaked his knee he would spend every minute he could out on the court. When he found out he couldn't play anymore and the dream of being a NBA star he had would never come true, he almost killed himself," Gabriella said surprisingly, standing up for Troy.
"It is the worst feeling in the world when you learn your dreams will never come true," his dad intrepid. "When learning he wasn't going to play for his home team, Troy I know how you felt and it is okay that you did what you did. So now where did you and your girl move, What team can I see you playing on?"
"We came here from Albuquerque, Troy quit the NBA and became a musical theatre dance teacher and I am a lawyer that represents the local hospital."
"Troy why would you quit? We worked so hard, day and night we were out side on the court."
"You worked me so hard that it wasn't ever any fun. You bought Mary this piano and a guitar, Mathew was always supported with his writing and me it was alway drill and drill after drill, I never had any time to find my passion. Until a girl in a blue dress walked into my life and talked some sense into me, now I hope she never leaves it."
"I had Mathew build a court out back in case you ever came home."
"One game then I don't have to ever play basketball ever again?"
"You really hate basketball?" after a simple nod, his dad replied, "sure."
