Chapter 19

-Jesse

I opened my eyes when someone closed the door. Probably Petra... 

  I winced when my vision span around me. So I tried to sit up and... damn, that was even worse. I spotted a mirror and went over to it, desperate to see what I looked like. Wow, was my hair that messy? The bandage was bugging me, so I braced myself to pull it out. 

  I looked at myself, my brown hair dull in the light coming in through the window. My green eyes were bright though... but there was blood at the side of head from somewhere. The crimson mixing with the earthly brown. Like some sort of strange mix.

    Then I noticed something else. A chip or something, among the folds of the bandage.I carefully pulled it out and looked up when I heard the door open.

    "Jesse?"Petra's voice rang out in from the darkness. I decided to show her, since I had nothing to hide. "What did you do? You're supposed to be sleeping!" she said,looking worried. 

    "Oh,right." I grinned and she rolled her eyes. I showed her the chip. The grey and red metal gleaming because of the light from the doorway. "Where did you get that from?" she asked and I felt her arm brush against mine. I swallowed my anxiety and told her.    

    "Of  course you would take it out." She muttered and rolled the chip in her palm. "What is it exactly?" I asked and she looked dubious. "I don't know, but what I do know, is that you should rest." She whispered and I looked at her. 

  "Jesse? Go to bed. I'll talk more in the morning." She instructed and I nodded because she told me to.
