"In between the crowds of people, the thoughts of broken dreams and despair. I see him standing, looking searching, looking for his angel. A girl with long tangled red hair glances towards him, I raise my mask to my face and shake my head. He is mine, my baby."

It's morning as I wake up and realize that I am not used the sunlight trying make its way through my windows. Lucky all the windows in this place are tinted a very dark black, just about enough so that what does come through doesn't hurt me.

I get up and out of bed before heading to the bathroom to have a shower. I let warm water cascade over me, clearing mind as well as my body.

I hear footsteps coming from the room next to me; my bedroom. I assume it's the servants cleaning and tidying the place while I am not there. I gave them a new schedule to work with, I guess that started today. I turn off the water just before stepping out of the shower. I wrapped large red towel around me before proceeding to head to my room.

As I expected the servants have come and gone leaving the place neat and tidy once again. The scattered papers from yesterday are neatly piled on my desk. The bed has been nicely made and on top of it, there are my clothes for today. I walk over to the bed seeing there is a suit with a dark red tie and black mask with a red outline placed upon my bed. Ah yes this evening a masquerade will be held at the town hall. I remember going through some paperwork for it, I remember signing something to which stated I would not give a speech at it. I hate to stand out and draw attention to myself, yet I am already different than the human kind.

I drop my towel on the floor and get dressed in some new underwear and the clothes for today. Once I am dressed I think through what must be done. I think about me all the people that will be there; friend or foe. The groups of people all talking loudly amongst themselves. The pulsing hearts, the blood rushing through their veins. I begin to feel my fangs ache ever so slightly at the thought of it. Though surely I can not be thirsty.

Then finally and most importantly what if Koichi is there, I must look my best just in case. And what if his father is there with him, then I must wear my mask and be unseen and unknown. I know that today the town would be packed with people buying all sorts items for the event. Also with sunshine at its brightest during this time of day there is no chance of me going outside, not yet.

I spend most of day inside as time slowly drags on. I go into the sitting room and turn on the TV. I flick through the channels one by one and yet each program is more boring than the one before. I sigh turning off the device and place the remote aside. I hear servants talking in a room near by. There are four extra rooms in this small castle I call home. Two of which were my two best servants stay in and the other two are of course empty.

I make my way towards the library room where there are bookshelves as far as the eye can see. I don't know what I shall read, maybe something interesting that I can make small talk about at the masquerade this evening.

By the time it is time for me to leave this place, I have read upon many books with different and unique facts about the history of this town.

I get up from the somewhat comfy read chair I was sitting in and make my down on the hall to the front door. I put on my shoes and take a matching hat that has neatly been placed aside for me to wear as I leave. I put that on and then exit the building.

Fresh air surrounds me as I begin to make my way to the town hall. The streets are crowded with people and cars all going exactly where I am. I keep to myself all way there not looking up for making eye contact with anyone. I know that I could turn into a bat and fly there but the risk of someone seeing the transformation is too much.

It's not long before I am standing in front of the nicely decorated building. There are lanterns lighting up the dusk path ahead, giving the cherry blossom trees that surround the building a different look in the dark. I continue to make up to the entrance, making my way through groups of people who have stopped to chat.

I glance around at the decor of building; there is room for food and drink in which none appeal to me. Next to that is the main room where the dances and speeches will be held. Glad I was given a schedule of what would happen, I make my way towards the big room that is ahead of me.

On my way someone taps me on the shoulder, at first I have the feeling to ignore the person whoever it maybe until I see who it is.

"Meto-chan, it's been a long time since I have seen you my friend." I say at the sight of my old friend who I have known for many years.

"Same goes for you. What have you been doing all this time?" He asks as we walk into the main room only to see it is more crowded than where we stood before.

Then I begin to tell him, not everything just these last few months. I hide no secrets from my friend as I tell him about the boy I long to love. He smiles and nods as he listens to every word I say.

"Glad to know that you finally found someone." He says chuckling lightly.

Soon everyone's conversation is cut short as the host of today's event walks onto the stage to give out his speech; Sir Kamijo.

Silence fills the room for a brief second before he begins to speak. Everyone stops to and listens enjoying his speech.

I glance around the room, it's like more than half of the town is here in this small building.

It's then I see him leaning up against a wall with a drink in his hand. To my surprise he is wearing a black dress and has his guitar by his side. He looks over at me and smiles as I nod and tilt my hat ever so slightly in acknowledgement that I have seen him.

"And now before the dances begin, one the best musicians in this town will play us a small piece to get us all in the mood. Don't forget to find a dance partner while listening to his performance. Without keeping you waiting any longer please give a warm welcome to Koichi Kurosagi!" Sir Kamijo's voice echoes across the room as I watch Koichi take to the stage.

"That's him?" Meto-chan asks looking at me.

"Yeah, that's him." I reply with a smile.

"He's a good kid. Don't let him out of your sight." Meto says his voice suddenly turning serious. There from I know that there is something Meto-chan knows that I don't. I don't ask though I stay quiet and time would show its hidden secrets.

We listen to him play his song until a young lady asks Meto if they could partner up for the dance and he kindly agrees. I am alone yet again though as the song ends I make way towards the stage. I see someone else glance his way though I raise my mask and shake my head. No words needed.. He's mine.

I watch as he exits the stage and walks onto the dance floor.

"Care to join me in this dance?" I ask as a new song has begun to be played by a CD player near by.

"I-I wish but-" He begins to reply though I stop him mid-sentence.

"Oh come on, it's just one dance." I say and somehow he gives in.

"Okay then." He agrees as I offer out my hand and he takes it before we begin to dance.

I am wearing my mask all the while, no one will who I am except him.He seems nervous or somewhat worried and I can guess why.

Though the connection, the pulse, the electricity between is enough to say; your safe with me or don't worry we belong together.

The music comes to an end far too quickly for my liking and therefore the dance is over. I can see someone making their way over to us in a hurried state.

"I-I really must go." Koichi says sounding quite worried.

I am about to let him go when I look to see that Meto-chan is talking, no distracting the person for getting here.

"Okay but you're coming with me." I say and he only nods understanding and agreeing with me. We run through crowds of people hand in hand, until we make it outside and out of sight.

Yet still we keep on running away from there and into the darkness of the night.
