More than a thousand years ago in China

On the night of the full moon, there was a beautiful woman bathing near the waterfalls.

Her pale skin illuminates underneath the moon's reflected rays. Her long light blue hair seems to merge with the water as she dunk her head within its wave. She swam towards the waterfall to fully bathe her body.

As she comes out of the waters to perch on the stone near the waterfalls, her tail suddenly pops out. It seems that she isn't an ordinary being because she is actually a dragon.

The female dragon was there at the waterfalls to cool her head and to wait for the night to end so that she can finally go back to her true form.

It seems that when this certain day arrives every four years, her power wanes and cannot shift at will.

She huffed her frustration and jumped back at the waters to again cool her temper. She went towards the banks where she had placed her clothes but she didn't see them there.

She heard a rustle in the bushes and she lets out some words. "Who's there? It's bad to take clothes that's not yours. Especially if it belongs to someone like me. Bring them back and I might give you mercy."

Suddenly a man came out of the bushes and approached her.

She looks at her thief and assumed he works at the field with the clothes he's wearing. She noticed that he didn't brought her clothes with him.

"Do you wish to die human?"

"No, I was told that I shouldn't return them to you no matter what to become my bride."

She stared at him flabbergast, instead of being inflame with anger, she laughed. "What do you think I am, human?"

"A swan?" With an unsure sound of his voice that send the dragon laughing at his plight.

She thought back and realize that before she bathe in this area, she scared a few swans and taken their swimming spot. Trying to hold back her laughter, she asked. "Are you blind? Have you not seen my tail. It does not look very swan-like."

"You're a new species of a swan?" Came his reply.

She laughed even harder. She never met a human as amusing as him and even hard headed so.

After she calmed down from her throes of laughter, she replied. "No, I am not a swan. I am a dragon. I made the swans flee a moment ago. You missed them by a thread."

With this the man saddened. "I see. Now that I think about it, the swans don't react like you do. I guess this doesn't applies to dragons."

"Indeed it does not and I can leave anytime I want to. With or without clothes." She implied.

The man blushed. "Could you please wait while I gather your clothes. I apologize for mistaking you as a swan."

As the man left, she speculates that it wouldn't hurt to stick with this human for a while. "I guess I'll put my transformation on hold for another four years. It's just four years. I can wait that long."

When he arrives with her clothes, she asked. "Human, what do you think of me? Am I beautiful than any other women you seek?"

"Very breathtaking. If you were a swan, I am lucky to have you but alas you are a dragon and a very unreachable being."

"That you're wrong. I decided that I'll stick with you, human. To get to know you better. Do you want to get to know me better aside from being your wife maybe in the near future?"

"Yes, I do."

"Then give me your name if you so wish to be with me."

"My name is Luan Feng." He said his name with hesitation that she wondered why.

"I am Shui Long."
