Chapter 1

The Present

Somewhere in Manila

Eldric Tiu is in the karaoke singing with his subordinates from his office. They decided to unwind the stress through singing and drinking booze since they don't have to work tomorrow.

Mr. Eldric Tiu is the president of his company named Direct Express, a shipping company he founded ten years back when he was twenty-eight years old.

He has short brown hair. It was so dark that it could already be called black. His eyes are the same as well. He also has a light brown complexion that is common across the country and has a very devilish grin when he tries to smile. His body is muscular since he goes to gym and is also practicing martial arts.

Eldric is a handsome man but still no girl has caught his eye to be his wife. There are some rumors that maybe his siblings are strict in regarding of finding his lady love, that he is a very cold person or that maybe he prefers male companionship.

The two subordinates with him, Richard Kalapati and Mark Sy has very muscular bodies. Though they do work inside his company. They also double as his bodyguards.

It is said that they are like sworn brothers to Eldric since they all grew up in the same neighborhood and they both owe Eldric in giving them their jobs.

Finally tired, Eldric decided that they should all go back home so that they could all catch the last train.

They went outside and walked towards the taxi stand which is two blocks away.

Eldric stopped and felt something wasn't right. He halts his two companions and said to look at their surroundings.

There were no people or cars in sight and this place was supposed to be the busiest place in Manila.

Suddenly a man both clothed and cloaked in black and is covering his face with a mask appeared with a dark sword in hand.

"Who are you?" Richard asked.

The masked man said nothing but approached Richard with great speed and punched Richard in his gut with his free hand.

Richard knelt on one knee because of the pain but he shouted to warn Mark and Eldric. "Be careful. He's a supernatural."

Immediately Mark stood ground, covering Eldric in the view of the masked man. Then he raised his right hand forward while he raised his left hand near his lips as he invoke a prayer and closed his eyes.

His whole body was immediately covered with soil and dirt forming a shell but it quickly crumbled away to show Mark clad in full ancient dark brown armor with a spear in his right hand. His hair grew long until his waist but it was neatly tied with a ponytail.

Mark approached the masked man and fight him head on while Richard who is now fully clothed with ancient battle attire guards Eldric.

"Go help him." Eldric said.

"But master-" Richard hesitates as his priority is to keep Eldric safe.

"Do it. You can defeat him easier if you're together."

Reluctantly, Richard nodded and followed Eldric's order.

Then suddenly, Mark cried back. "Stand your ground he has the Dragon Slayer."

But it was too late. The sword suddenly turned into a scythe and untangle its owner from the tough fight he had with Mark.

The masked man made its way to Eldric's position and threw his scythe towards his target.

The scythe quickly turned into a kusarigama, a sickle with a chain attached and hits Eldric but instead it hits a huge wall of earth that Eldric created to shield himself with.

Eldric looks smug and confident as he taunts the assailant. "You think you can defeat me, boy. I'm more powerful and experienced than you are."

The masked man spoke in a very deep voice. "Everything is possible."

Suddenly, the kusarigama turned into a sword and impaled itself deeper to the wall. Since the wall was too thick, he made his sword longer and it pierced Eldric's heart.

"No way." Eldric said stunned as he laid on the ground.

Richard and Mark suddenly turned into a pile of sand at their master's defeat while Eldric's body turned into what looks like a mannequin and then finally turned into heaps of soil.

On this night, nobody witness the death of Eldric Tiu who is actually an Earth Dragon in disguise.
