“I can’t believe this,” I cried and fell back onto to my bed. I’ve been living a lie! How could my father do this to me? Is he even my father, how would Mom know if he was or not! “My life sucks.”

The dorm door opened and Damon walked in. “Well, it just got better!”

I quickly put a shield up and focused on keeping it up. I glared at him as I sat up in bed. “Just shut up!”

“What happened to you?” Damon raised an eyebrow. He seemed surprised by my attitude.

“It doesn’t concern you,” I crossed my arms, still blocking him out.

“What are you hiding? And don’t say you’re not ‘cause I know you have a shield up,” Damon questioned and crossed his arms.

“Nothing! That’s just because I don’t want you in my head! Thank you very much,” I snapped. I had been snappy since my mom died, two months ago. Wait is that a werewolf thing, I hope not.

I stood up and walked over to my desk. I sat down and opened my laptop. I quickly logged in. I turned the computer so that Damon could not see.

“I know you’re hiding something now, what is it?” Damon demanded. I looked over at him and noticed that his eyes were red.

“Why do you even care? You don’t and it has nothing to do with you so leave it!” suddenly I felt as if my eyes were on fire. I shut them and rubbed my palms which did not help.

I teleported into the bathroom and opened my eyes as I glanced at the mirror. My eyes were glowing gold with a red outline around the irises. I gasped falling back into the wall. Damon was by my side in a flash. Though my eyes did not burn anymore, I held them shut in fear they were still gold. Then I somehow knew that my eyes changed back and I opened my eyes to see Damon in my face and pushed him back.

“What’s wrong?” Damon raised an eyebrow at me.

“I have to go,” I dashed past him with supernatural speed but he grabbed my arm. “What?”

“Tell me what’s wrong,” he demanded. I rolled my eyes.

“Please, just let me go,” I mumbled. It shocked me that he actually let go. “Thanks.”

I quickly left. Without a second thought I ran to the woods. Off limits, but I did not care and went anyway. I found a huge, flat, boulder and sat down. “What happened to my eyes?”

“Fallon, what are you doing out here?” I heard. Miss Soul appeared out of the darkness. “The woods are off limits.”

“Sorry, I just…I’m sorry, I’ll head back,” I did not want her to know about the eye-thing.

“Did you see or hear anything well you were out here?” she asked, her hand on the walkie-talkie on her waist.

“No,” I shook my head, “I haven’t.”

“Okay, head back to the dorms now,” Miss Soul stated. I nodded and sped back to my room.

After a deep breath I slipped in. “School will resume tomorrow but the woods remain off limits and curfew to be in your dorm hall is seven.” someone announced and repeated.

Suddenly I was shoved and held against the door. Damon stood in front of me as his, no longer red, eyes pierced into mine as if looking into my soul. It was weird because I’m not sure if he even had a soul himself. He had his body brushed up against mine so I could not move, “I’m not letting you go until you tell me what happened before you left and what has you so mad.”

With a raging burst of energy, I shoved him off of me. Damon seemed shocked, then just plain mad. What is his problem? I narrowed eyes at him, "just leave me alone."

"I saw," he stated. What? My eyes? "Yeah, your eyes."

"Why is it so hard to stay out of my head, huh?" I hissed. If I knew how to shift, I'd rip his head off!

"You’re a werewolf?" he questioned. Before I could put a shield, "wow, you’re a weird hybrid."

"Shut up!" I growled. He makes me so angry-wait calm down Fallon-deep breaths.

"I'm sensing demon and vampire, human, okay, you’re like a quarter werewolf, so you probably can't shift." Damon smirked. I raised an eyebrow at him.

"How do you know?"

"Like I said, I've been here too long," he rolled his eyes. "Quarter werewolves can shift most of the time, but since you have so many other genes, it's even more unlikely."

"Wow, Damon, your actually smart," I smirked crossing my arms.

He rolled his eyes. "Why'd you lie about what you were?"

"I didn't know, okay!" I felt my eyes flash color but they just as quickly flashed back.

"I don't recall ever seeing eyes like yours, have they always been like that?" Damon raised an eyebrow at me.

"No," I reluctantly replied.

“Well you might want to keep it to yourself, unless you crave attention that is,” Damon winked. He is good at multitasking, being a jerk and helpful at the same time.
