Family-Mantis x Drax

"You're a part of the freakin Guardians of the Galaxy now." Peter hands me a shiny looking medal and smiles warmly at me.

"I am?"

I look over to Gamora and Drax and they both smile at me, I smile wide and I kneel down to pet the puppy.

"Can someone get this weird girl off of me?!"

The room is filled with laughter and I look outside to see these beautiful and colorful fireworks. I have never seen anything this pretty. Ego was lying to me almost my entire life and I never had a family..till now.

I look back and smile at Drax who's holding baby Groot in his arms who is asleep..

"You're our family now,Mantis." Gamora says smiling a little even if it isn't that noticeable.

"If only Yondu were still alive...he would've thought you were cool." Peter speaks,slowly I place my arm on his shoulder and I begin to cry,he really misses his father.

"He must be proud of you." I tell him then look at Drax, "You too,Drax..you're daughter and wife too..you saved the galaxy again from what I remembered Gamora said."

I take my hand off of Peter's and place it on Drax's shoulder, "Thank you creature..you are one of the kindest,innocent and loyal person I have ever met...like a dog."

We stayed another while awake and I was stitching up Drax's wound caused by Kraglin trying to use Yondu's old arrow. "That hurts." Drax winces a little.

"I'm sorry." I sit back down and stare at him.

"It's alright..you better rest up though." He stands up and I make my way to the couch ready to sleep a bit.

My eyes were already closed when I felt something on top of me,I opened them up and saw Drax placing a blanket on top of me. I grab the blanket holding it tight.

"See I obey." I try to smile.

Drax chuckles and nods his head after, "Like a puppy." I say.

"No..a puppy is cute..you aren't.."

"Really?"

"I'm joking..you are unique and..quite cute."

"No one has ever called me cute before." I say thinking if no only has truly said that to me.

"Well they should often..rest up Mantis." Drax pats my head and I see him walk away.

Huh...maybe I should start acting more like a puppy that way he'll like me more..
