The Right Thing-Ego

"I'm your dad.. Peter.."

Ego's son Peter Quill stared back at his long lost father for seconds till. saw Ego walking towards him and wrapping his strong arms around Peter,glancing over to my left i saw Mantis quiet as ever. So this is his son then...he does look a bit like Ego when he was younger, he's still handsome though. Staying in my position Ego pointed towards me and smiled.

"This my son is (Y/N)."

Ego said to Peter and we exchanged an awkward greeting. Night fell and I sat down next to Mantis as we stared into the fire and I heard Ego telling everything on how he's been searching for Peter.

"And when I heard that a mortal held an infinity stone, I knew it was you." I looked into Peter's eyes and knew what he was thinking. He doesn't trust Ego. "I never thought I would meet you." Peter muttered under his breathe.

"I knew that someday we would." Ego says with a smile and stands up "Now if you'll excuse me i'm gonna pee." he said wandering somewhere in the woods. "You feeling okay Mantis?" I ask the young girl and she looks over to me with curious eyes.

"I think so..have you seen a puppy like this in the galaxy?" furrowing my eyebrows together I look at her seeing at a raccoon. "Can i pet your puppy?" she asks the guy besides her who's eating.

The man whose name is Drax looks surprised but nods his head, Mantis smiles and reaches down to pet the raccoons head. "Mantis don't!" I tell her and reached for her hand and she flinched when the raccoon bit the tip of her fingers. I glare over at the man who's laughing hysterically.

I pat Mantis's back trying to calm her down, "That was a joke." he says laughing and then Mantis begins to laugh with him. The blue girl in front of us shakes her head to the side. Nebula daughter to Thanos. I laid down on a few blankets and closed my eyes, the last thing i heard was Ego and Mantis talking.

It's been almost a day since we arrived at Ego's planet and he's been showing Peter around. "Well,what do you think sweetheart?" he asks and lazily wraps his arm around my shoulder and stares up ahead at his work in the planet. "I think it's going perfectly well, what do you feel towards Peter?" I ask him not trying to sound too suspicious.

Because lately Ego and Mantis have been talking behind my back and he isnt acting the same to Peter as he does towards me and Mantis. "I feel nothing but love towards the kid.." he smiles to himself.

"Ego..I know you are hiding something." I tell him when I was about to reach to touch him but he grabbed my wrist a bit tight.

"The reason i brought Peter is so he can help me. Together we can rule the galaxy and if that plan fails i'll just use him as a battery." my eyes widened, how can Ego say that? I touched his hand and read his thoughts just like Mantis can do. River lily...he still has feelings for Meredith his previous lover. Ego rested his hand on my cheek and leaned forward to kiss my lips.

"So since you already know this you better not tell anyone else. Mantis knows what she must do too." He said humming along to a song as he walked away. The sky began to darken and quickly I ran over to where Peter or Gamora were. None of them where no where to be seen. Looking for them like a crazy person I saw Peter dancing up ahead with his walkman in hand and shouted his name.

"Peter! You h-have to leave this planet right now." I tried to push him but him being bigger than me i failed. Peter laughed it off and grabbed my shoulders, "(Y/N) I just met my father, i haven't seen him for years and you're telling me to leave?"

"Don't be stupid Peter, isn't this all too suspicious to you?! Ego finally appearing in your life after all this time? Peter i-i know you're dad very well and this won't end up pretty." Peter stared down at me frowning, almost glaring at me. I touched his forehead and showed him everything including of things that happened before he was born.

"I am Ego's partner but he's been hiding me things lately, he wants to use you like he's doing with me..." footsteps approached behind us and heard someone clapping. I slowly turned around and my heart stopped at the sight of Ego himself. "Very well (Y/N)..I knew you would do this to me."

Peter stood in front of me and glared at Ego, "Y-You killed my mother?...Why did you do it?!" He shouted. Ego raised his hands and threw me against the glass window and I landed outside and groaned as I held down my stomach and saw a shard of glass.

"Peter!" I shouted trying to stand up.

"(Y/N)!" Mantis shouted and made her way over to me worried. Drax helped me up to my fight and we all stared over at Peter who was being held down by Ego. "I couldn't help it (Y/N) i had to tell them." Mantis looks over to me and i nod, "You did well Mantis."

"How are we supposed to kill him?" Nebula asked.

"With this." we looked down and saw Rocket holding onto some type of bomb. "Alright but where should we put it?" Gamora asks.

"You have to put it on Ego's core." I answer them and stared at them for a second longer "There's no time to waste. I'll distract him." Gamora frowned a little but went on with Rocket.

"No (Y/N).."

I look back to Mantis smiling as i hugged her "If i don't make it remember what I told you. You'll live with them from now on with your friends." I say to her and held onto her longer. Mantis gives me a warming smile and I began to walk over to Ego.

"Ego!" shouting his name he turns to me and smiles "Look who decided to show up to the party again-" "Enough! I'll put an end to you once and for all Ego. This was never the plan." I tell him. He's broken my heart long enough, knowing that he never loved me and used me. I look over to Peter and see him about to pass out, "Don't worry Peter i'll get you out of this."

Ego begins to laugh and I take out my sword and point it at him, "This is your final warning." he grins and i launch towards him and he jumped back and quickly i turned my back and tried to at least cut him.

"You'll never win against me (Y/N)."

I groaned when he appeared behind me and slashed my shoulder, he laughed and made his way closer to me, i held my hand up and threw him on the other side of the room and ran over to help Peter up. Gamora appeared and held onto him. I held my hands out and held Ego down onto the ground but he was stronger and managed to get out of my powers.

"Get him out of here..you all deserve to live." I tell Gamora and Peter. Peter looked over to me defeated knowing that I wouldn't listen to him, "I wish i would've met you on a different occasion Peter." I smile over to him and i saw a single tear fall down his cheek. i began to distract Ego while giving Peter time to leave the planet. "What do you think you are doing?!" he asked when I held him with all i had down.

"Something i know i won't regret in doing." I say looking down to him then up the sky "I'm killing us both..." i smile looking up to see Peter and his friends leave Ego's planet before the ground beneath us started to shake and i was engulfed in the brightness.
