For in Him wen Live, and move, and have our being...
Acts 17:27I slowly made my way out of the room and headed for the church grounds. I saw the giant tent in front of the church building and was amazed at how large it was. It was really wide. And the weather was pretty nice too, cool breezy evening. People wandered around the place, moving speakers and other stuff, others were just talking and some, probably the early comers were occupying the seats already.
I was about to walk when I heard my phone ring, it is my Aunt.
"Hello?"
"--get in here now, we have a lot of customers here in the restaurant and Olivia is out. Come here quick." I began to panic at what I just heard. What? Such a wrong timing!
Will I leave? If I don't then I'd be sued for sure, but if I do leave... I will miss all these...
I thought about it for a second and decided to stay. Yes, even if it meant I'd be dead by the time my aunt sees me.
But I just can't leave... I don't wanna miss this."Sorry Auntie, but..." I took a deep breath before continuing to speak.
"-- but I can't come right now. I really, really can't. I'll come and help tomorrow whole day, if that's OK with you...." I explained in hopes that she'd understand."What? Oh,what a useless kid. Come-in-here-now!!! Or I'll cut your allowance for a whole year!" I heard her shout through the phone which made me take the phone a little bit away from my ear.
"Please Aunt Riza, just this time please? This is really important to me." I begged.
"You are crazy, I, even though I really am disappointed with you, still gives you all you need! And this is what I get? Oh what a-- which club are you in?!! I'm gonna come and pull you by your hair!"
"Auntie... I am .. Actually, not in a club."
"Oh... I won't fall for that, you brat. Tell me!"
"I really am not in a club. Really." I know that my Aunt don't really trust me. And I understand that. I have been a really bad child, after all... But this time, this time it is real... I must tell her, even if she believes me or not.
"You tell me right now, or I will get cops to find you!!"
"--Aunt Riza, I'm at church." As soon as I let out the words there was silence from the other line for a while.
"Hu-wait- Church?" I heard her ask in a very sarcastic tone.
"Uhm.. Yup."
"Hahaha! You must be kidding me right now! You can do better than that Anna! Of all the places you can say as an excuse, you chose church! Hahaha! Good thing you ain't burnin' in there, ah?"
"No. I'm not burning Aunt Riza. Its actually a great place. I just found out too."
"Stop your game and get in here now, Anna!"
"I'll be there tomorrow to help."
"He--" I held my phone away from my ear and hung up immediately. I turned my phone off and put it in my pocket. Hooh! Wow, that was really convincing huh... Well, at least I got away for now.
"Hmm, nice choice." I swiftly turned around to see who was the one who spoke, and saw a man leaning on a post near the church door. He was the same man I saw preaching in the streets the other night.
"Uhh, what choice? Pastor..?? Uhm.." I asked as I cleared my throat.
"The one you just made. Between God, and your Aunt." He replied with a smile.
"--and please, 'Brother' will do."
