Carlie and Nick had been in their new home for awhile and they've been busy and hadn't had time to go out so Nick planned a date.
"Carlie, hurry up." Nick shouted.
"Coming!" she yelled back. She looked in the mirror one last time before walking into the living room where Nick waited. "Damn babe, you're looking good." he made an exaggerated sexy face which made her laugh. She kept pulling at her dress. "Are you sure? Maybe I should change."
"No. You look fine. We're gonna be late." he grabbed her hand and they left the house.
It was a nice night out so they decided to walk to the restaurant. They walked in and the hostess greeted them and showed them to their table. "Here you are." she handed them menus and walked away. Carlie looked around the place at the people. There were couples and families talking, laughing and enjoying their meal. She looked at Nick and smiled. He was looking down at his menu. He got his hair cut and he styled it differently which looked good, He was wearing a dark blue button down shirt with the top two buttons undone, black distressed jeans and black vans. God he looked so good she thought. She was getting a funny feeling in her tummy thinking of how sexy he looked so she cleared her throat and he looked up. "What?"
"I was just thinking about how sexy you look." she felt herself blushing and looked at her menu. He reached across the table and interlaced their fingers. "So are you babe." Before she could reply, the waitress came over. "Good evening. Have you decided what you'd like to order?" Nick closed his menu and looked at her. "Can I get the Pasta Primavera with a coke please." she wrote it on her note pad and turned to Carlie, "And for you miss?"
"The same but with a glass of merlot please." after she wrote it down, she gathered their menus. "I'll be back with your drinks."
They were a couple drinks in when their food came. They ate, talked and had a great time. He paid the check and they left the restaurant. Walking hand in hand they ended up at a nearby park. It was so beautiful out with a three quarter moon and tiny stars dotting the sky. Nick let go of her hand and went to climb the jungle gym. "Babe look at me!" he was laughing. She sat on the swing and laughed, "Oh god be careful." she slowly moved the swing back and forth while he ran from one thing to another. She loved seeing him happy and being silly. He was such a kid at heart and that's one thing she loved about him. She sat in the swing and pumped her legs so she could go higher. She loved the swings as a kid and still did as an adult. She closed her eyes as she swung higher and higher. She was lost in the moment and didn't realize Nick had stopped playing. She opened her eyes and slowed down the swing. He was standing looking at her. "Jump. I'll catch you." She shook her head. "No." He stepped closer, "Jump and I'll catch you. I promise."
She shook her head and sighed, "Can't believe I'm doing this." she counted and on the third pass she jumped out of the swing and into Nick. They fell to the grass laughing. "I thought you were gonna catch me?"
"Well you're in my arms." he laughed harder. She stopped and looked into his eyes. "I love you." she leaned down and kissed him. After a minute she pulled away.
"I love you more." he whispered wrapping his arms around her. They lay in the grass and he maneuvered them so that they were looking up at the sky.
