Narrator POV

It's been two weeks since Sho went into comatose. During his heart transplant, a small blood clot formed in his brain, which lead to complications during the surgery. Though Sho made it through safely, he's still being monitored by the medics in the ICU in the hope that the blood clots would heal on their own.

"Mam, I'm very pleased to tell you that Sho is recovering at a tremendous rate." Dr. Tan, the head physician for Sho's case, said. He and Sho's mother were talking just outside the ICU. She gave out a sigh of relief upon hearing this. A smile crept on her lips

Dr. Tan continued, "The blood clot in his brain is so close to disappearing. I'd say that boy is one hell of a fighter!"

"He is, Doctor. And I can't thank you enough for everything you've done for Sho." She replied.

But then she sees, just for a fraction of a second, a certain gloom the doctor's eyes. Her smile fades.

"But there's something else, isn't there, Doc?"

Dr. Tan snaps himself out of the trance and back to his "optimistic state". "Oh no, Mam. Sho's chances of waking up are very high. The longer he stays in coma, the more critical his chances for survival are."

"What do mean?" She says with a worried face.

"Do you mind if we walk a bit?" Dr. Tan says, keeping a calm face.He removes his glasses and rubs his nose bridge. He then puts them back on and looks at her, trying to think of an explanation that a layman would understand.

"Nosocomial infection." He finally says."Since he is in a coma, all Sho's systems are down. Of course, aside from those that are keeping him alive like circulatory, respiratory..."

Dr. Tan pauses for a moment and clears his throat. He's over-explaining himself.

"His immune system is down, which makes him very prone to catch other diseases found in the hospital."

Sho' mom was just about to say something when...

"Paging Dr. Tan, please proceed to the ICU. Dr. Tan, please proceed to the ICU."

"Please excuse me." Dr. Tan says to Sho's mom. She nods, trying to hide her confusion. He then brisk-walks to the ICU.

"Status?" Dr.Tan said two minute later. The medical team was performing CPR on a patient, Sho

"His heartbeat stopped. He's had irregular heartbeats five minutes prior." A nurse says.

"Defibulators are ready, sir", another nurse, says.

"Give him oxygen." An oxygen mask is then strapped onto his mouth.

"Clear!" The clothes iron-like contraption pressed into Sho's bare chest. His body elevating in reaction.

"Sir no response"

They did the same process over and over: CPR, Oxygen, Revive, Repeat. Sho wasn't responding at all.

Little did anyone realize, amidst all the chaos, something had fallen out of Sho's pocket. It was hidden in the shadows, passively watching everything happen with its non-existing eye.

So this is basically a filler chapter of what really happened to Sho. Cudos to my family for answering my weird questions about surgery, especially my brother who works in the OR. Haha

Really hope this chapter was worth the wait :)
