Adelaide
"Adelaide." I heard someone calling my name. I didn't know that I was asleep. The last thing I can remember was I told Jane that I'm feeling sick. I wasn't really. I just don't wanna go back there.
I tried to open my eyes but it seemed heavy. My vision cleared sooner and I saw my brother sitting on my bed.
"Hey." I greeted with a half smile.
"Sorry to wake you up, sleeping beauty. But you need to eat." Alexander said, showing me a tray with foods there. "C'mon, get up."
He helped me to get up and I looked down at the food. I took the spoon and started eating.
"I don't know why but it felt really long since we have you here."
"I know right." I chuckled.
"Tired?" He asks with concern.
"A bit." I nodded.
"Well, you'll be okay. We're going to a party tonight." He said.
"Party?" I repeated. I don't really like going to parties, like the one in the club or bar.
"Yep. Our friends will be there too." By friends, I know who exactly he meant. Reece, George, Blake and Georgia. I missed them already. I don't know what I'd do if I found out Georgia's angry at me.
"Were you at Georgia's party last night?" I asked him. His face expression changed, like disappointed or what.
"Yeah." He shrugged.
"Do you think she's mad at me for not coming?" I asked again, hoping that he knows the answer.
"No. She's not mad. She's very understanding though... but she's sad after hearing your voicemail." Alexander answers.
"I ruined her birthday." I sighed.
"No. You didn't." He assured me. "You'll get to meet her tonight so it'll be okay."
"That means I need to get her something." I said. Alexander nodded.
Alexander came with me as we looked for a gift shop here in London. We seem to find one eventually.
"What time are we going to meet them?" I asked Alex as I try to find a gift for Georgia.
"Six. And I know where the place is."
I just nodded. I found a lovely vintage music box that caught my eye instantly. I took it from the shelf and study the details. It's made of wood and when you open it, it plays a soft sound and the ballerina figurine at the center of the box starts to dance.
"This is perfect."
"Yeah. You should get that." Alexander said behind me, looking at the music box too.
"What did you get her yesterday?" I asked Alex.
"A new book." Alex answered as a shrug.
I took it to the cashier and in less than a minute, we're out of the shop.
"Let's catch a coffee over there." Alexander invited as he points out to the nearest café.
I agreed and we walked inside. I sat at one of the two-chair tables, waiting for Alexander to come back as he orders something.
I looked around and something caught my eye. A familiar figure. Shit, don't tell me that's what I think it is.
The figure stood up and shook hands with the other man he's with. Sooner, he turned around only to catch my eyes. I looked away, hoping he would mistaken me for someone else.
