"i like that sweatshirt," the older girl complimented as we both sat down in our seats at the small cafe.
"uh thanks." i gave her a shy smile back and looked down at my hands, playing with them out of nervousness.
"so," she looked around the room and back at me "how've you been lately? we haven't talked as much."
"good."
"are you sure?" she questioned.
"yeah."
"you look tired."
my breath hitched in my throat. i took a sip of my water that was previously brought to us.
"i am." i said slowly.
"have you not been sleeping well?"
"i-"
before i could give a full response,
her phone rang so she said,"one second."
and answered the call.
"hey jay!" she chirped happily.
my eyes widened and i felt my heartbeat speed up rapidly.
ohmygodohmygodohmygod
"really?"
"that's so great! i can't wait to see you!"
"call me about it again later? i'm at lunch with troye."
"yeah, troye mellet. what other troye do i know?"
"okay i will. bye."
she hung up the phone and i stared at her with awe. i don't even think i blinked.
"sorry about that." she took a sip of her water.
"was that jacob?" i nearly mumbled, i didn't mean to invade her privacy but i really wanted to know what was happening.
"yes," she laughed "he might be coming down this summer. i'm so excited to see him again!"
i smiled along with her.
"i'm happy for you."
"he told me to tell you he says hi."
i nearly screamed at this.
"he did?"
"yeah, tro."
"would you tell him i said hi back? when you call him later, if you don't mind."
"of course."
i smiled.
"are you excited to see him?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at me.
my heart fluttered at the thought.
i wanted to see jacob so badly.i missed him so much,
and i still loved him."yeah, i am."
