The next day
Today is the day we all move forward with our lives. Jason and I are currently on our way to New York to meet my father and his lawyer.
I can't help, but feel relief like a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders and I couldn't be anymore grateful for that.
"I'm so sleepy", I yawn.
"Go in the back and take a nap.. we're still have four more hours until we get to New York", Jason responds drinking his slurpy, he bought from 7/11.
Taking a whole minute to think about his suggestion, I give in feeling so drained out. This pregnancy has had me so tired all the time and pigging out every chance I get.
"Wake me up once we get there", I yawn getting into the back seat buckling my seatbelt laying down.
I take a glance at Jason who looks so handsome right now not that he doesn't ever cause boy does he always look good. I slowly flutter my eyes shut letting sleep take over.
-
-"We're here", I hear Jason murmur lightly shaking me.
I begin to flutter my eyes open letting out a soft yawn stretching my arms out. As I pull myself up, I glance at the home I grew up in. Instead of feeling a warm feeling about being back, It's the complete opposite from that. I feel every hair on my body stick up remembering this very same home was where I was pushed down the stairs and Alessandra was brutally murdered.
Since that day, I've been thinking about who could possibly be behind her death. Like who wanted her dead so bad? Crazy, how it happened right after me being there too, which is scary because what if I stayed longer would that murderer also gotten Jason and I?
"I know what your thinking babe... relax", Jason firmly says breaking me out of my thoughts.
He intertwines his fingers with mine, as we approach the mansion. I can't help, but feel nervous about seeing my father. It's been four months since being away from here luckily I'm only three months pregnant and my belly still isn't visible yet. There's no way I want to share the news with him.
I ring the door bell, my heart starting to beat irregularly. I turn to smile at Jason who's pretty quiet most likely anxious himself.
I soothingly rub my thump in circular motions on his hand. He turns to glance at me giving me a half smile in return.
The door finally opens revealing Eloisa who's brown eyes widen completely stunned by my presence. "Princessa!", she splutters embracing me into a tight long hug.
"I missed you", I whisper in her ear smelling her fruity perfume, I bought her last Christmas.
"You look different nina.. you have some sort of glow", Eloisa says pulling away from the hug taking in my appearance.
