Around the same time , the 7th Union had decided a meeting for all its members and since Queen Isabella headed the Aramandan kingdom she was required to go.

In her place , Prince Paul was made temporary regent. Though Paul had no heart in taking on power , he still found this new seat of power and judgement very pleasing.

The Baadals continued to invade Aramanda which forced the temporary regent to built borders and restrict movement towards them. Any individual found in those areas was to be questioned and was to be left to regent for final judgement.

On one fateful day, the guards of the eastern border brought in a young woman. She was unmistakably the woman whom Paul had met on the banks of the river a few weeks ago.

"Do we lock her up , my lord ?" asked the soldier taking a firm grip on young woman's hand.

"No. You leave her to me." Paul said staring at the young woman who gritted her teeth at him.

The soldiers nodded and left the two alone.

"What do they call you ?" Paul asked her.

"Why should I name myself to a stranger ?" She asked defiantly.

"I am king ! You are in my territory...." began Paul as he explained his authority over Aramanda.

"No ! You're just a temporary regent ! Not a King !" She replied with a glare.

Paul was struck by her confidence and her firmness.

"You dare to talk to me like that ?" Paul asked , glaring back at her. But for once during his short reign , he felt his authority being questioned.

"Yes, I do ! I do not fall on knees before a man in a crown without wisdom." She replied with a hiss.

"Do you realise the consequences of your actions ? Do you realise that I could condemn you to death !" Paul asked , making sure that the girl before him knew of his authority.

"I'm not afraid of authority." She replied with defiance. Her witty remarks and her straightforward nature was appealing and Paul decided to woo her.

He did everything he could , from showering with gifts to taking her to his favourite places in the place , but nothing seemed to please her. She wouldn't even give him her name.

Finally , he took her to jewel room of Narema , where the most precious stones of Aramanda which held the greatest of powers were stored in the globe of jewels.

She stretched her hand to take out one of the globe jewels but Paul stopped her.

"Don't . Those are precious and they are an ancient legacy of our family, even we are forbidden to touch it." Paul said.

The woman knew that Paul was eager to know her name and would do anything to know it.

"I shall tell you my name only if you let me atleast hold one of these stones." She said with a smirk.

Now , Paul who was deeply in love , agreed to just let her hold the stone. He carefully took out one of the stones a d gave it to her.

"Delilah. My name is Delilah." She said still gazing at the stone with utmost curiosity.

"Well, Delilah , would do the honour of courting me ? I know I've just known your name but we've known each other for a while now." Paul said , immediately wanting to make her his.

Delilah nodded in reply , for though she rejected the regent numerous times , yet she had to admit her feelings for him.

At that very moment , the doors of Jewel room swung open and there stood the great Queen Isabella , furious at her brother for making a great mistake.
