The last few days have been amazing. Carter and I snowboarded and I almost totally forgot about Charlie. But then I came back to real life. I am just finishing packing up the car for Carter and I to go home. I am sad that we are leaving but it is to go see Charlie. I am nervous to see her. I don't know what of her.
"Hey Aspen let's go! We have to go see Charlie!"
"I know, I'm just really nervous. How is Mason doing?"
"He is a mess. He still refuses to leave her bedside. He just wants her to wake up that's all."
"Ok let's just go."
"You should sleep Aspen, you look exhausted!"
"I'll try...I just wish I could dissapear right now."
"Well let's go. Try and sleep please." Carter says worriedly
"Okay"
At that we get on our way. I almost fall asleep instantly. Carter wakes me up after we arrive at the hospital. The lady at the front desk tells us that Charlie is in room 254. I hesitate as we approach the door. Carter knocked and Mason answers.
"Hey buddy."
Mason lunches forward and grasps Carter in a bear hug.
"Hi, and hi Aspen." Mason says
"Hi" I say quietly.
Carter is about to ask the one question I did not want to hear.
"How is Char?"
"She is okay I guess. You guys can come in if you want." Mason says
"Okay" I whisper silently
We walk in and I see Charlie laying in bed. She looks so peaceful just laying there. I hate it. She is just laying there breathing. I walk over to her and touch her. She is freezing. But she is breathing. I don't want to leave her. Carter tells me that we are allowed I stay for ten minutes. When we have to leave I feel like Charlie is going to wake up at any moment. Carter finally convinces me to leave the torture room.
