I walk up to the check in stand with my hands shaking. The front desk lady hands me my bib. It is so surreal, I can't believe I am at the Olympic Trials! I am scheduled to go second to last. I would rather go last but, oh well! I am jumping with nerves and excitement.
When I am waiting my turn on the slopes I can't sit still. I have to walk around or do something.
"Carter, I'm going to take a short walk."
"Okay be back soon though babe." Carter says
I walk around for awhile before I turn back. I know I will be going soon so I decide to get back. When I return it is my turn. I run to Carter and he hands me my board.
"Love you" I say
"Love you too, be safe please." Carter says
"Of course." I say to Carter
I get into my position in the starting place. When I am ready to go the count down starts. I know this sound anywhere. I fly through the gate and down the mountain. I am coming to the first turn... easy peasy. I continue that way all the way down the mountain, until the very last turn. Turn number 17 it is tight and I am not ready for it. I go screaming out of control and I hit the fence off the course.
