Chapter 5-Regretting it already

Groggily, Lila woke up to noises coming from the bathroom. Thinking she was being robbed she grabbed for the nearest thing to her, a hardback book.

The Hardback Book wasn't one of her favorites but it would do the job, good enough to knock some sense into the intruder, she thought. Her grip tightened on the book, she really did mean business.

The door opened and a man stepped out, the robe clung to him and the sheer sight filled her with recognition. A scream welled in her throat and although she tried to stop, it came anyway. The hardback book in her hands slipped to the floor with a loud thud. 'Drake, what the hell?'

She turns around, her eyes falling to the floor and the bed. Men's clothes were discarded and thrown about. She gulps and looks back at him again. Suddenly it all comes rushing back to her. A whirlwind of memory causes her to land on the bed with a flop, she growls at herself in frustration. "Oh god, I'm stupid, Stupid, stupid!"

Drake kneels down in front of her, his hands clutching her shoulders. "Lila You aren't stupid, What you did last night was human and we both know that you still like me."

He stares at her silence, "I don't like how things ended with us."

Lila sighs exasperatedly, "It's not like I wanted to look elsewhere! You could've made it easier on me."

She strokes his cheek, her fingers feeling his skin, remembering all to much what happened last night. "You know, Sometimes I wonder what could've happened If I stayed, We could've had Marriage and Kids by now but that is before you raised your hand to me."

Drake snatches Lila's hand from his cheek, "I know that, I'm sorry Lila I was jealous and a complete utter Idoit and It's all my fault because I drove the best thing that ever happened to me away and you ended up in the arms of another man but believe me when I say I didn't want that."

Lila nods at him, she completely understood the way he felt. She turns away from him, staring out of the window, distracting herself. "I know you didn't but at the end of the day you were hurt and you let that drive you rather than thinking rationally."

He turns her around by her shoulders, guiding her towards him, where he looks her in the eye. "I know but that's all in the past and this is the future so we still have a chance right?."

Lila looks at him full of doubt and the enormity of what she has done suddenly hit her. "Drake, To be completely honest with you I'm not sure because too much has happened, Too much water under the bridge and Johnny is in hospital because of you yet, I feel guilty because of what we've done and for me being the cause of all this in the first place."

She looks at him sadly. "I guess we both went about things in the wrong way and there's so much that we can't change but then again Hindsight is a brilliant thing, It doesn't change anything between you and I Drake."

Drake felt like a massive weight had dropped on his shoulders with a clang as he listens her words. "You still love me though? Does this mean you're going to tell him?."

Lila shrugs. "I, I don't know parts of me says I have to because I'm an honest person and I don't want to keep anything from him because I love him and I desperately want this realationship to work out but you are right I do have some kind of feelings for you but I can't fully comprehend my own emotions right now so maybe you should just give us some space for now."

He nodded at her understanding and decides not to force it any further out of fears he may lose her for good. The whole thing has pretty much gone wrong for him right now.

At first he was angry with her and wanted her hurt but now after last night he realised all along he still loved her and was kicking himself for losing her in the first place.

"I understand completely Lila, Take as much time as you need."

As Lila turns to leave he grabs her hand. "In a bid to be totally honest with you, Jackson is bricking it and he told me I should stay away from you, Should I have done?."

Lila takes her hand out of his grip. "Drake, There's just too many maybes right now and we both know what's done is done so the most important thing that we both need to think about is what happens next not what we should've done."

He kisses her cheek. "Thank you Lila, For being so understanding and maybe your right, Maybe I do need to make peace with my past and perhaps I do need to change."

Lila smiles a warm smile at him whilst grabbing her stuff. As she exits the door she thinks. "Maybe there's a chance for us both to be friends and maybe, Just maybe there's hope for him after all."
