Hiding from my mate

Prologue

We live in a world of super naturals. A world where werewolves and witches exist. When I was six I lost my family...well, my family lost me. It started as just a normal day at home when my mom died. I was too young to shift then so I couldn't help her.

I didn't understand why we needed mates or why they were so important. I definitely don't want one now though, not after what my father did. Not after he killed her...not after my mother was murdered by her own mate and fed to the rouges in front of her four.

My one and only brother had ran away directly after seeing it.
After George left, my sisters, Eloise and Lilly, were too scared to disobey my father as he was the only thing protecting us, so they hid away and never did anything really. But after what our father did, I couldn't stand to be near him or the pack, so I ran away into the woods. I took enough money for myself to survive for a little while and found a small abandoned cottage hidden away in the trees. I knew I'd have to go to school but both of my sisters were at least 3 than me but George was only a year so I wouldn't have to see my sister's.My brother was always trying to protect ne anyway so i didnt have to worry about him. Plus, Eloise and Lilly went to an all-werewolf school so I went to a school where I'd be mixed with humans so I'd be safer.

When I grew to 11, I realised that there would be my mate out there somewhere and he would find me someday so I sought out a witch. One who could hide me, forever. After months of searching I found one on the other side of town. It was difficult to explain to her but with all the heartache I eventually told her and she helped me out. She gave me a ring with a colour changing sapphire that varied from blue to red to yellow or green depending on my emotions. It hid my scent from my mate but she warned me that if we touched skin on skin, he would know.

I dreaded that day, so I wore biker gloves and made sure that people would be afraid of me. I made sure to be the trouble maker, the rebel, the one person you don't want to mess with.
