I've never been so warm. This is a great dream. Furry blankets make sleeping so much better. So warm and cozy...wait a second...I don't have any super furry blankets. I peek one eye open. Now I know I'm dreaming. I open my eyes and sit up.
I am in the most luxurious four poster bed that I have ever seen. This is definitely not the love seat that I had fallen sleep on. More like passed out but who's keeping track? Speaking of which, I'm feeling...good? The past couple days I've been feeling worse and worse. But now I feel, hungry, ravenous actually. My stomach growls in response.
Well if this is a dream, I can eat as much as I want without any repercussions! Sweeeet.
There's that feeling again, feeling like I'm being watched. It's the same one I had in the living room. I pull the blankets up to my chin and glance around the room, scanning the shadows. At first I didn't see anything, but then I saw eyes. Two two pale blue orbs. I didn't move. Didn't breathe.
The voice that spoke was quiet and low, like a predator. "I'm not going to harm you, Aurick. You are safe here."
"Who are you? Why would I be scared if I am dreaming?"
The eyes came closer, and a man came out of the shadows. He was gorgeous. The sexiest man of ever seen and I was speechless. His hair was kept a little longer, enough to cover his eyes, but it was tousled, like he runs his hands through it a lot. I couldn't break away from his eyes though. They were the color of the lightest Blue Star, which is a flower that is common back home.
"My name is Austeyn, and you're not dreaming. I won't lie to you, Aurick. I brought you here because you are sick."
I frowned. "How do you know that?"
"I first saw you a few days ago."
It clicked like a lightbulb going off in my head. "You were the one outside my window! You're a creep and you kidnapped me!" My outburst startled him momentarily, enough for me to leap off the bed, somehow not tripping, and reach the door. Unfortunately he was a lot quicker than I.
He encased me with his arms, holding the door closed so I couldn't escape, sultry voice whispering in my ear, "I meant what I said about not harming you. Then and now. You have nothing to fear from me."
"Let me go. I already feel better." Which wasn't completely a lie. The second he backs off he's going to be doubled over in pain. He'll think twice about touching me again.
"I know what you're thinking. I can tell from your expression and the sound of your voice. As soon as I move away you think you're going to incapacitate me. Well I have news for you, little butterfly. I'm one of the best fighters around and you won't best me no matter how feisty you are."
That's probably true but he doesn't know that. I slump my shoulders, pretending to be defeated. For a second I think he's not going to buy it but he moves away. What a sucker. I smile before throwing my head back into his beautiful fsce. I can hear the bones in his nose crunch as my vision dims. Shit, I didn't think that'd actually hurt!
"Damnu air!"
Hehe my plan worked. As he was clutching his bloody nose and screaming, what I can only imagine are the worst cuss words, I flung open the door and started running as fast as my legs could carry me.
I didn't get very far before I was tackled from behind and he was straddling me with my arms pinned above my head. Struggling I tried to free myself, but boy was he strong. Not that I'm surprised. He fills out his clothes quite nicely.
"Now stop." He commanded.
He didn't yell, but his quietness unnerved me. It's like my body gave up and wanted to do whatever he said. The traitor.
"Austeyn?"
He didn't turn away to look at who spoke, but kept those steely eyes fixed on me.
"Everything is fine, mother. Just a little misunderstanding."
"Is this her?"
"Yes. This is my future bride and queen."
