The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and I was throwing up in the toilet as Aaron was calling our friends and families to invite them over for dinner. It had been at least a month since we were married and the day after the wedding was when we found it I was pregnant. My morning sickness finally subsided and I went downstairs. As my foot touched the last stair, there was a knock on the door. I walked toward the door and opened it, there stood Zane, smiling.
"Hey Aph, Aaron just invited me over for dinner. Now, I know something's up because you're my best friend and you would've called me. Also- wait, is that vomit?" He pointed out on my chin. My face turned red as I wiped it off. "What's up Aph?" He sounded worried, I sighed.
"Come in Zane, take a seat." I paused, then called to Aaron, "Aaron, come here."
"Kay babe." He said before joining me and Zane on the couch.
"So what's the problem Aph?" Zane asked, panic in his voice.
"Well, uhhh, I have a bun in the oven." I blurted, Aaron facepalmed.
"Well, you should take it out, we don't want your house burning down now do we?" I sighed.
"Ugh Zane, that was a metaphor, I'm pregnant."
"YOU'RE WHAT?!" He paused and started again, "AARON YOU DID THIS!!!"
"Woah Zane calm down, you're going to be an uncle, I think..." his face went back to blankness as I said that.
"R-Really?"
"Yeah." Aaron said bluntly, Zane growled.
"Well, now that I know, I want to come to this dinner. But I have to get going, I have to go to work."
"Alrighty, bye Zane!" I squeaked as he left. Bile rose in my throat as I booked it to the bathroom.
"How'd you aim babe?" Aaron called to me.
"I got it on the toilet seat." I said in defeat. I sighed and took a seat on the bathroom floor, 'the fun never ends!' I thought sarcastically.
