Surprise Pt. 1

"Ya know what?" I asked her, her sitting on the bar stools while I made breakfast.
"Hmm?"
"You seem different." Her eyes went wide before her cheeks were coloured pink. "A good different."
"What do you mean Zane?"
"Softer, or maybe you're just cuter." I cooed, she giggled as she blushed.
"So, are you doing anything for your birthday tomorrow?"
"H-how did you know when my birthday was?" I was genuinely shocked, Garroth didn't even know my birthday.
"Zane I'm your girlfriend, of course I'm gonna know that."
"Oh! That reminds me. KC, what are you up to for the next little bit? I wanna spend the day, just us." She smiled.
"I have nothing planned so that sounds fun." She said as we started to eat breakfast.

We walked down the peer, hand in hand. KC was really changing me as a person without me even realizing it. We sat on a bench eating ice cream, the sun was near set and the sky was starting to turn pink. I led her down the path to the Sakura gardens, stopping at our tree. We watched the sunset a little more before I spoke up.
"Hey KC?"
"Yeah Zane?"
"Will you marry me?" She shot up.
"What?!" She screamed, I turned to face her and opened the box with the ring in it.
"KC I love you, you've made me a real person with emotions. I want to be with you, I want to start a family with you KC. So, will you marry me?"
"Y-you want to start a family?" She said quietly, tears in her eyes. I stood up as she hugged me. I placed the ring on her finger as we walked back home, sitting on the couch together we just talked, for hours until we realized it was 3 am. She snuggled up to me in the bed, we sighed with relief.
My eyes closed as I listened to her breathing and how her heart beat against mine.
