Firdous's POV
The day was finally here. Camping day. People think it's weird that I get so excited about some boring camp.
But to me spending time with my family is what I love. If it means going camping, sure why not. We're not too close but we get along, make jokes and make up quickly after fighting.Another reason why I like camping is because I enjoy nature, mainly because I love to paint it. I don't want to brag but I'm a great artist, which is probably why I always have a sketch book and pencil in my bag wherever I go.
"Firdous, Crystal get your butt down here, it's time to go! We're leaving with or without you!" Shouted my older brother, Austin. I sighed as I packed my sketch book into my suitcase and struggled down the stairs. "Need help with that?" asked my older sister Crystal. I always treasure moments like this when my sister is friendly and helpful. One moment she's all nice and offering to help and the next minute she's grouchy and moody and should be avoided like Satan. It's best to take advantage of her kind moments while they last.
"Yes please." Crystal helped drag my suitcase to the bottom of the stairs where Austin was waiting examining his watch with real purpose.
"Wow, Austin, you look really busy." said Crystal with sarcasm. "Of course, now can we leave everyone else is waiting in the van including your mutt, Weirdos. " I rolled my eyes, when I was seven I had found some pill that were shaped like sweet for sick children so I emptyed the bottle and had to go to the hospital becauses of an overdose. Ever since then my wonderful brother has often referred to me as Overdose (also because it rhymes with my name) and named the dog he got for my birthday, Weirdos (because it rhymes with my name) , I know my brother is a genius *note the sarcasm."So why are we standing here growing old, let's go camping." I said excitedly. Austin started for the door but was stopped by Crystal. "Uhm, if we ever going to leave, you would help us carrying Firdous' s suitcase to the van, since you were the one who took the last rolling bag." Austin sighed and lifted my suitcase with no effort since he worked out a lot. "You own me for this Overdose." I just smiled. Crystal was the oldest so Austin listened to her as he didn't want to get on her bad side.
Once in the van Weirdos jumped into my lap and dad shouted with enthusiasm, "Who's ready for camping."
Only mom and I shouted yeah with meaning. Great, this is gonna be an awesome weekend.
