Chapter 37 - Explanations

Saya pov:

"I guess that's about everything you need to know about me." I said while taking a sip of water.

I had just finished explaining a lot of things about myself to all these shinobi gathered here. I told them about myself from scratch – the time in the dungeon, the experiment that triggered me to release my shinigami side, being saved by tou san, trying to defeat Aizen single handedly and finally getting booted into this world. I also gave them a brief explanation on what we shinigami do, the power our zanpakutos give us – Shikai, Bankai and in my case hollowfication as well – and what hollows are.

Questions were thrown in every now and then from the lot listening to my explanation which resulted me in having to explain Kido spells, the Garganta, the Senkaimon and the three worlds that I was familiar with before coming to the Shinobi World.

"What about that....thing....on your shoulder?" Yamato san asked slightly weirded out by the talking stuffed lion.

"Hey!! Who do you think you're calling a thing?! I have a name! It's Kon! And I'm Saya chan's knight in shining armor!" Kon said, jumping off my shoulder to stand on the ground with a hand on his chest in pride.

"Sure you are, Kon." I mused and picked him up. "This is what we call a Modified Soul. Several centuries ago, Soul Society worked on Project Spearhead where they created artificial souls with enhanced human physiology used to fight against hollows instead of shinigami. But the project was scrapped later on because it was considered inhuman to sacrifice these souls in the place of shinigami. There are some Mod Souls remaining and this perverted guy is one of them."

"Modified Souls....but how come it's in a stuffed toy? It feels more like a ghost possessing something to me 'ttebayo. It's creepy." Naruto gave a shudder while wrapping his arms around himself.

"Oi Dobe, don't tell me you're scared of a stuffed lion!" Sasuke teased with a smirk earning a glare in return.

"Shut up, Teme! Nobody asked for your opion!!" Naruto retorted.

"Actually," I interrupted. "The souls are condensed into what we call Soul Pills. They take the form of whatever they are put into. Kon? Can you spit out the Soul Pill for a moment?"

Kon nodded and spat the small green pill onto my hand. The stuffed toy went limp and I held up the pill. "This is the real form of Kon."

I put the pill back in the mouth of the stuffed lion and Kon sprang back to life.

"That's still creepy." Naruto mumbled and I laughed.

"One last question." This time the Raikage spoke. "You haven't told us about the man and the raven that you summoned. Who were they? And why aren't they here now?"

"Ah, if you want to know about that, I need my katana."

"Your katana? Why?" The Tsuchikage questioned suspiciously.

"I told you that my katana is my zanpakuto, right? The name of my zanpakuto is Akatsuki no Raiden. The man who appeared is Akatsuki and the raven is Rai. They are the materialized forms of my zanpakuto." I explained. "So if you want to see them again, I have to summon them from my katana."

"Materialized forms of your zanpakuto?" Itachi asked with a slight frown. "But you said they were a part of you. How come they look so different from you?"

Itachi hadn't said a word since the questioning had begun. He hadn't asked me any questions either but I knew exactly why he had spoken now. I remember how his chakra had wavered when Akatsuki had hugged me from behind and been sort of intimate with me. Itachi wasn't happy about that.
