Epilogue
Tris
I wake up with Tobias lying next to me in our new apartment just north of the river. He chose it because of the scenery, and the fact that it is nowhere near our past homes. It's been ten years since new Chicago has formed and five years since our wedding. I remember the day like it was yesterday.
I remember fussing over my hair and dress as Christina, my maid of honor, was walked down the aisle with Zeke, Tobias' best man. Following them was Cara and Amar, which only gave me more time to stoke the ever growing fire burning in my gut. Caleb finally takes my arm and leads me down the aisle to Tobias, who is watching me, his deep blue eyes filled with love and adoration. I've never seen him look so alive since the revolution. When I reach the altar, Tobias and I clasped our hands together and my eyes gazed out over the crowd. I found Evelyn and Marcus, sitting on opposite sides of the church, Evelyn on the edge of her seat, like she needed to make a quick escape. We said our vows and the minister told Tobias to kiss the bride.
Tobias leaned down and pressed his lips to mine. It was the sweetest kiss I've ever had.
