"You ugly, y'know dat?" August held my hand as we walked around his old neighborhood in New Orleans.
"You not that eye catching yourself." I looked up at him.
He laughed, causing me to join.
"Ight', yah see dem swings ova' dea'?" August slowly stop walking, pointing over to a little park across the street from us.
"Mhm." I nodded, putting my hand above my eyebrows, to block the sun.
"Dat whea' I got my first kiss."
"And how old were you?"
"Bout..'leven--" He cheesed.
"Lord, please don't let my son be fast like his daddy." I put my hands together looking up.
"And da girl was like sixteen." August rubbed his hands together still smiling.
"You a hoe." I frowned, he bust out laughing. "You are a whole hoe out here." I chuckled.
"A nigga ain't gon lie, I had like four girlfriends at one time." He held up four fingers.
"You thought you was a player didn't you?"
"Hell yea, cause I was." He laughed.
"No nigga you was a hoe!!" I tried explaining. "I can't believe this right now." I was really shocked about this. "Bet you got caught up?"
"Look da only reason dey fought out, cause Keshia and Shay was friends."
"A whole hoe!!"
"Dat's in da past doe so--" August shrugged.
"I was thinkin' about wifin' you up bruh," I side-eye him shaking my head disappointed. "but never mind." I through me arms up.
He laughed once more, clapping his hands.
"Bebe don't be like dat."
"Nah, just when I thought I had one." I fake pout.
"A nigga changin' for you, beybeh." He pulled me into his chest; hugging me.
"No you can't turn no hoe into a house wife." I pushed him away. "A hoe gon always be a hoe."
"I'm not a hoe." August begin laughing again.
"Yes you are!!" My eyes widen.
"No I'm not, but okay." He chuckled coming off his high of laughter. "Come on." He grabbed my hand.
Walking further down the block, we turn a corner, then stopped.
"Ight, dis whea' my homie got shot."
"Not yah homie." I laughed.
"Yea my homie!!" August laughed, trying to sound like Ray-Ray off of Hunted House. "Dat was first time seein' anyone gettin' shot. I was--" He squint his eyes trying to recall. "Nine."
"Damn." I whispered. "Wanna hear somethin' funny?"
"Wad?" He chuckled prepared for what I was about to tell him.
"When I was nine I use to live in this house on the hill right." We begin walking. "My daddy had just brought me this bike, and my ex-best friend wanted to ride it and I was like, "Nah bruh."."
August beginning laughing engaged in my story.
"Listen that not the funny part." I lightly laughed. "So my mama was like "Let her ride it." And got mad cause I didn't want to ride the scooter. Don't judge me when I tell you what I did next."
"A nigga already judgin' you." He threw his hands up chuckling.
"I don't care." I shrugged smiling. "I was so mad I was like "Fuck y'all!", let me remind you I'm angry as hell. You know angry people do stupid things."
"Don't tell me yo' lil' ass try ridin' da scoota' down da hill." August laughed.
"I did and fuck my face up."
"Yo' dumb ass." He laughed harder.
"Shut up!" I laughed with him. "When I tell that shit made me even more pissed off, I kicked the girl off me bike; literally."
"Noooo!!"
"Yes, and I walked home with my bike, crying with a busted face."
August laughed harder trying to catch his breath.
"It's not funny, and Jay try getting me to come outside the next day."
"I bet you was like "Nah my mama said I can't come out today."."
"I did." I nodded my head laughing. "And she didn't even say that shit either."
"Me as fuck." August wiped his tears away.
"I wasn't going out there with a busted face, they had me fucked up." I rolled my eyes.
