Hope In Their Eyes: book 2

Chapter 5: First Lead

We had finally had our first lead thanks to Sky. I worried for her even more because she made that call and then was yanked away. But I just kept hope for her and believed that she is okay. Sky is a strong woman and she has fought through so much on her own. Before I entered her life and had been helping her get through this part of it, that is until she was taken away from me.

"Now everyone be on guard for Sky, she is carrying a baby. And we caught a lead, or should I say Sky had contacted us with...," Sam stuttered. Issac noticed Sam's struggle and took over for Sam. "Skylar had been through a lot, and she is suffering both emotionally and physically, she is probably in a lot of pain, so we will go with cautious," Issac stated. The rescue soldiers, nodded their head with confidence and determination.

Issac gave Sam and reassuring ease to comfort him. "Hang in there Sam, were gonna get her back, don't lose hope." Issac said. Though, Issac feared for his baby sister, he to worried a lot for her and hoped he was right. There was only so long that Issac can handle it any longer, if anything happened to his little sister, he would never come back from it. A memory in Issac's head of Skylar came back to him.

"Bubba, where are we going?" Sky's, kid self, asked. " I want to show you a magical place filled with the scent of chocolate, it will be a dream come true, you will be the luckiest little sister in the world." Issac ruffled her hair. Sky's child self giggled angelically. "Really, will there be magical chocolate unicorns?"she asked, curiosity in her eyes. Issac chuckled loudly. "No, they live in another dimension but maybe someday you will meet one." Her eyes sparkled with curiosity and joy. "That's amazing, will you see this place to bubba?" She asked.

"Maybe someday the angels will decide that it's time and I will go visit them during the army," he responded.
"Will you come back, bubba?" She asked. "I will be with you all along in your dreams dancing with the chocolate unicorns, someday Skylar you will realize it time for you too be without me and you will become a beautiful young woman." He said.
Skylar gained a little bit of sorrow in her bright emerald eyes."But I will miss you bubba," She said, sadly. "You will be with me one day, if I do, but until then you will blossom like a princess," he assured. Her eyes shined again with pride and joy. "Yes, a princess," she smiled.
Overjoyed with happiness little Skylar skipped ahead of Issac. As he followed along. "Hey, wait up, Skylar!" He yelled, happily. Picking her up making her giggle and putting her on his shoulders.

Issac smiled and felt sadness sting his heart for awhile. We will find you Skylar and I will never leave again for war. We will all be together just like you want baby sister. Issac clenched the locket that Skylar gave him for his birthday and held tightly. Sam saw a hint in Issac's distant eyes of sadness and longing. Sam knew Issac missed her too but to see pain in his eyes was really shocking. Then he knew that not only was he hurting badly but a lot of others where missing her dearly so they were gonna her back for everyone.

"We're here commander," the soldier told. Sam glanced over the huge woodland mansion, in the woods. It will be a lot of floor to cover but he remembered in the dreadful video of the wall that looked as a basement, as promised. "Skylar was held in a basement, we must find it, leave no stone unturned, move out," Sam commanded. Both Issac and Sam signaled their soldiers to go forward and approach,slowly, with caution. They approached and kicked the door in, some soldiers heading inside, separating to search rooms and other heading around the woodland mansion to search the outer regions.

Issac and Sam both headed inside, Issac signaled Sam to go one way, and Sam nodded. While Issac headed in the opposite direction. Sam wondered into what seemed to be the longest hallway ever. It led into a big dining room, the interior of wood walls and flooring were polished to make a glow effect when the light came on. It smelled of polished wood and pine.
