| The A U T H O R Writes a Short Chapter to Give Whis a New Name |
"Jewel." Whis murmured still watching the foal as it accomplished getting to its feet and finding comfort in Calium's milk supply.
Anakin didn't move as he listened to her roll the word around in her head, testing its angles and strengths, stabbing at its weaknesses. He waited in silent affirmation for her to turn to him and say what she was thinking, to spew what could change her life.
"I like it." The words were directed to him and so he removed his gaze from the colt to her.
He smiled softly. "It does have a nice ring, doesn't it?"
Whis frowned. "Would you call me that?"
Anakin pursed his lips, pretending to think it over because he already knew the answer. A moment later he nodded. "Yes," he affirmed. "I would call you Jewel."
She nodded slowly, looking back at the colt. He'd paused drinking and was gazing at her curiously. She smiled and reached out, touching his milk covered nose. "We'll be rubies together."
