Chapter 19

Nick

I looked up and stared at the sky.. the sun was setting giving the clouds a purple pink tone.. the sky was golden with a subtile pink tone..

We were now going to listen to the Foo Fighters, one of my favorite bands.. I looked left towards Joe and saw him gazing at me.. he was trying to see what I was thinking about.. he nodded slightly his head and I nodded back..

Demi shouts and holds on to my hand since my arm was on her shoulders.. as she screamed at the top of her lungs I looked down to only see the top of her head and then, all of a sudden, Everlong sounds

I look straight to the stage seeing none other but the legend Dave Grohl playing in his awesome blue guitar

I smile and nudge Demi with my hip making her look up at me

"Hello.. I waited here for you.. Everlong.."

As I'm mouthing the lyrics, Demi smiles brightly making me grin and lean down to kiss her

I was having so much fun listening to one of my idols.. I have waited so much to listen to them live.. and now here I was.. with my favorite band, my favorite festival.. my favorite friends.. a beautiful sky.. and the girl

I was nervous as to what is going to happen between us.. Demi has always been on my mind but long distance relationships are tough.. and we didn't have a very good experience with it.. we drifted apart..

Is it worth it if the connection only happens when we're body to body? Shouldn't we have a connection even when we're not physically together?..

Everlong ended and, just like a sign, Times Like These starts

A smile creeped onto my lips making me look down at Demi.. she did teach me how to love..

It's times like these I feel grateful for meeting her.. she teached me so much in just a summer..

The concert went on not failing my expectations at all.. it was perfect..

When it ended, it was practically nightime.. everyone was tired already.. Jinjoo was talking with one of Demi's friends while Marissa was laughing with Cole and Jack..

I stood up and pulled Demi with me - Can we walk?

- To where? - she asked adjusting my jacket that was on top of her shoulders

- Nowhere..walk and talk around..

She smiles and nods placing her hand on my arm

I sighed and then we went on towards nowhere.. concerts were still going so it wasn't quiet at all..

- So.. tonight we're going our separate ways once again..

She nodded - Yes.. I'm going back home.. - she paused - What do you think will happen between us?..

I took a deep breath - I really don't know.. I really like you.. and not the normal type of liking.. When we reconnected was like we were never apart.. that isn't normal - I tell her making her giggle

- Yeah.. but.. you don't want to be stuck.. right? - she asked nervously

I sighed - I mean.. I'm already stuck on you.. the question is, how long can I be stuck? - I said - I can't wait forever for someone.. that's not the type of guy I am.. - I told her honestly

Demi kept quiet for a while looking off into the distance.. she then looked back up at me and opened her mouth to speak

- What if.. what if I apply to a college in California.. - she asked - Would you.. be there for me? Is that an option?..

I confusedly stare at her - Are you serious? - I asked

She nodded and I started to imagine the possibilities.. would my parents allow someone completely unknown to them, to live with us?..

That would indeed solve some of our problems.. our biggest problem actually..

- That is a possibility.. - I told her - but where would you stay? In my house? - I asked her

Demi shrugged - I mean.. that would be great, but I could always stay in campus.. - she told me

- And you're willing to do that.. for us?..

Demi took in a deep breath showing me that she was a little insecure about what she was saying - You have to take risks right?

I shook my head - That step is too big Demi.. what if we don't work out in the end? - I ask stopping dead in my tracks so I could look at her

- Then I'll come back home.. I mean.. If I stay at your house, I'll move to a sorority and stay there until the end of course... California is a pretty cool place to live.. or it so seems to be..

- Do you.. think.. that like.. we can do it? - I asked

- You seem too unsure.. you don't think? You don't want to take that step? - Demi asked me making me nervous

- No.. that's not the point.. I just.. no one has done something like that for me.. - I told her - I wasn't expecting you to even suggest it..

Demi smiled and put my hands on her hips - It's impossible for me to not love someone who saved my life

I smiled - I could do it again

She giggled and stood up on her toes to kiss me.. I was nervous.. this was a big step.. Hopefully nothing goes wrong..

At least I know that.. as long as I'm with her.. I will be fine..
