July 20, 2012:
Photograph, of your face,
so many years after the rain,
and the fires we set to burn our cages,
while withered plants grew cold and lonely.
So many years after the rain,
and only a lowly, heartfelt hum,
whispering your name, only a measure
of heat remains; in the ashes and glowing
coals of last night's fiery flame.
