The palace was not that far from the border. Leo had said that the palace was placed ten miles from the Italian border for when the country first started out, it was the safest place for the royals to be until the witch had wanted to be Queen when Jacob became King almost thirty years ago.
"What do you mean thirty years Leo," Adelric asked looking at Leo while holding Bella to him.
"I mean Prince Adelric that for nine years your father was pursued by the witch and for five years he was with your mother Rose. They were married for almost a year before you were born," Leo said pulling up to a house a mile from the palace.
"Why are we stopping here? Don't we need to go to the palace," Bella asked sitting up more.
"We are at my love's place. We can't go any further right now, not until you both know more. There are things that need to be explained before you go any further to the palace," Leo said getting out of the car. "Bella Amore, darling Alicia I'm back, come outside and give me the love I have been missing for almost eighteen years."
"Papa is that you," came a voice from the door.
"Yes it's me, Layla, my little love. Where is your mother?"
"She is in the garden missing you. What are you doing here, mama said you would call soon because you didn't call last night."
"What is she talking about," Adelric asked looking between Leo and the girl.
"Oh no I forgot all about calling her to tell her we are alright and to tell her that I love her," Leo said running into the house. "Little love can you show Adelric, Bella and her parents inside please?"
"Of course papa, do you want me to show them to their rooms," Layla asked.
"That would be great. Thank you," with that Leo ran to the back where the garden must be.
"Well come on then, I'll show you to your rooms. That way you can rest before dinner," Layla said gesturing for them to follow her.
Once seeing the whole house Layla showed Julius and River to their room and then Adelric to his. "And Bella we have another room that way you don't have to share a room with Adelric," she said walking away from the room.
"Are you sure? I mean it's no trouble to share a room with him," Bella said holding onto Adelric's arm.
"On no you see until a royal is married, they do not sleep in the same room as those of the opposite gender as them."
"I'm sure your room is close to mine mia colomba. I'll see you in a few minutes that way Leo can talk to us more about everything," Adelric said putting his hand over Bella's.
"Are you sure, I don't want to leave you if you don't want me to."
"It will only be for a few minutes. I'm sure Bella."
"Well okay than. I guess I'll see you in a bit."
"See you then colomba," Adelric said before he went to kiss her, but Layla interrupted before that could happen.
"Nope no kissing. No royal should kiss anyone except for the one that they marry and even then not until the wedding day."
"Oh well I'll see you soon then mio soldato," Bella said then followed Layla to what she thought was another spare room.
"Why are we in the garden if the spare room is in the house," Bella asked looking around the garden at all the beautiful flowers.
"Oh it's not in the house. It's right here," Layla said pulling open the garden shed door.
"In there? Are you sure it's in the garden shed," Bella asked looking inside the shed.
"It's there trust me, just walk straight to the back and you'll see it."
"Okay then," Bella said walking into the shed. "Are you sure I can't find anything back here to make it look like it's for a guest."
"That's because there isn't one, and stay away from my future husband. You got that bitch," with that said Layla shut Bella inside with no way out.
"What no," Bella said, but it was too late. "You can't do this, Adelric needs me."
"He doesn't need you, when he has me. You were just a way to occupy his time until he could return to me. You will be let out after mine and my prince's wedding," Layla said before walking away.
"No please, no." Bella said sliding down the door in tears. "Please he needs me. Please."
Adelric was pacing back and forth outside Leo's study. It has been about an hour since he had last seen Bella when Layla had taken her to the extra spare room.
"Where is she. She knows we are meeting before dinner to have you explain more about what happens from here on out."
"What are you talking about? She should be sharing a room with you, for there are only two spare rooms in the house," Leo said.
"Layla, told us that there were three spare rooms. She also said that no one, but the bride of a royal sleeps in the same bed as them and even that's only after the wedding." Adelric explained looking at Leo from the doorway where he was waiting for Bella.
"That's not true, besides you and Bella will be married soon anyways," Leo said walking out of the study. Finding Layla in the kitchen he asked where Bella was.
"I was going to let her stay in my room with me, but she wanted to see the garden so I lead her there about an hour ago. I'm surprised she's not back yet," she said looking at her father for a moment before looking away. "Maybe she ran after I left her there when she asked to alone for a bit."
"Bella wouldn't run, not after what was said before we got here," Adelric said before heading to the garden himself. "Your lying and I will prove it." Walking into the garden Adelric could faintly hear sobs coming from somewhere, calling out for her Adelric waited for any kind of noise in hopes of it being her.
"Soldato, I'm in here amore. Please get me out of here," Bella yelled from what sounded like the garden shed.
"Mia colomba, hang on I'll have you out soon," he said running over to the shed door and tried to open it. "It won't budge, move to the very back and stay low I'm going to break it down. Let me know when you're there, love."
"Alright I'm away from the door, but please be careful Adelric. I don't want you hurting when you face the witch."
Not answering her Adelric kicked the door in with all the strength he had, before pulling Bella up into his arms and moving into the house. Upon seeing Bella in Adelric's arms and holding onto him tightly, Leo knew what had gone on to make the prince growl at anyone who looked their way and hold on tighter to his future queen. He knew that his daughter was promised something that was never and will never be her's by the witch, with no other choice Leo had Adelric take Bella into his study and told them everything that needed to happen and that had happened before having his wife pack them a decent meal and handing them the keys to the car.
"You're not coming with us," Bella asked while looking at Leo, from where Adelric had placed her in the car.
"No I have to deal with my daughter. Besides this is as far as me and your parents go the rest is up to you and Adelric to do on your own. We will see you both once the kingdom has been freed from the witch. Good luck to you both and remember that whatever the witch tells you about the other is to make you turn on each other. You're stronger as one than as two," and with that Leo had sent them on their way to fight a battle that was a long time coming to save Taruses.
A/N: Hey guys, how are you liking the story? Tell me what you think and most of all hope you're enjoying it. It makes me sad to say this, because I have come to love writing this book, but The Prince's Cure is almost over. Bella and Adelric will have a few more obstacles in their way before they get their happy ending. Think about maybe giving you guys an extra chapter on life for them years later. How does that sound? Let me know what you think really appreciate it if you do. Hoping to have the next chapter done sometime next week for you guys.
