Someone's Jealous

Summary: When Fairy Tail and other guilds go to an annual ball, Lyon continuously hogged Juvia all night. As much as Gray hated to admit it, it bothered him A LOT. Worse part of it all was that Juvia seemed to be enjoying it.

Gray has always been the type to never discuss his true feelings; it was one of the reasons why a lot of his relationships had failed both platonic and romantic. For example, when he was 12 this girl that he attended school with had a crush on him and he returned the feelings. However the relationship didn't last that long. After three weeks of dating, the girl broke up with him because he was too dormant of his feelings and never was a fan of personal topics.

Of course he's always disliked his lack of maintaining a healthy relationship and has attempted to overcome it, but sadly he still kept to himself. He didn't mind it one bit. A relationship with a girl would be fine and all, but he really wasn't all that interested at the moment. Besides she'd have to be okay with him being absent a lot due to long missions, and she'd constantly be in danger since Fairy Tail has so many enemies. So what was the point of trying anyway?

But then he met Juvia.

She was probably the most unique human being he has ever met. She could be hella annoying at times, but he genuinely appreciated her existence in his life. She is also the only living person who knows him more than anyone has probably ever known him. She knows about his past, his teacher, the food he likes, the food he hates, hell she even knew his preferred shoe company. The only thing she probably didn't know about him was the fact that he liked her. Don't get ahead of yourself. He didn't like her romantically of course; he just liked her as a close friend.

Of course he wouldn't tell her how much she truly means to him both because he's bad at telling his feelings, and she'd think that he was telling her a love confession. Believe it or not, whenever Juvia was chill she was a nice person to talk to. He found out a few things about her on missions alone with her. He found out that she loves the show Gilmore Girls and watches it every Saturday. Her favorite color was blue, but not because of her hair but because it was Gray's favorite color. She was most afraid of spiders and most insects except for ladybugs, fireflies, and butterflies. She didn't like champagne because her ex-boyfriend Bora used to drink it all the time and it reminded her of him. She worked really well with children, and he absolutely adored watching her handle them. She was so gentle with them it just made his heart melt.

Honestly, Gray wouldn't mind dating a girl like her, but for some reason something was pulling him back from actually asking her out. He never stressed about it though because he was so sure that Juvia was so in love with him that he couldn't imagine her falling in love with anybody else soon.

His assumption was wrong.

Fairy Tail and other guilds that were invited was attending an annual ball in Magnolia's city hall. Unfortunately for Gray, Lamia Scale was one of the many guilds invited, so he'd have to deal with him. He was sitting at the bar that Mirajane volunteered to work at. "Would you like something Gray?" She asked with that kind smile of hers. He shook his head side ti side. "Nah I don't feel like getting tipsy today especially after last week at Gajeel's birthday party." They both made a grimace at the memory of Fairy Tail members lying about on the floor knocked out from all the alcohol poisoning.

"Can't blame you for that. Can I get you something to eat at least? Maybe some snacks?" Mira asked. He shrugged. "Sure why not." He replied and she began to fix his plate. He heard someone plop down in the seat beside him, and once he smelt the familiar perfume he knew exactly who it was. "Hi Juvia." He said without even looking up at her. Juvia looked surprised he knew it was her without looking at her. "How did you know it was Juvia?"  She asked. He smirked. "Your'e probably the only girl I know that wears that perfume." He answered. This made Juvia blush.
