It was extremely unfortunate really.

For some reason, long ago ice and water mages got in a feud causing the mages to hate each other for centuries, and the tradition continued on. No one knew exactly what caused the feud or even what made the two groups despise each other so much. They just knew they were each other's rivals like Slytherin and Gryffindor or the Montagues and the Capulets.

Seriously it was very unfortunate.

Juvia didn't know why her people decided to stick to the petty and stupid belief that ice and water mages had to hate each other especially if they don't know the reason why they hated each other. If they got along, they'd actually be a great team. I mean for Christ sakes their elements compliment each other!

Juvia never cared to obey this dumb belief. It was unpopular to believe what she felt, and so far she's only met one other water mage that agreed with her. Of course that mage left town a few years back; just her luck. She always wondered if any of the ice mages believed that they needed to end this feud once and for all.

She always found herself strolling through the woods to the gorgeous springs that separated the water and ice mage tribes. The springs were forbidden from both tribes because that meant they were to close to the grounds of the opposing tribe. Of course that never stopped Juvia.

She was currently chilling near a tree by the waterfall peacefully until she heard footsteps and quiet voices approaching her. She quickly hid behind a boulder near by and peaked her head over to see who dare intrude on her resting time. She saw three boys around her age approaching from the waterfall.

One had big green eyes and blond hair, the other had white hair and onyx eyes, and the last one had a black hair wearing a cross necklace, and for some reason wasn't wearing a shirt. She blushed when she saw the last one. He was quite the eye candy.

"Yo I can't believe we did this dude. If we get caught by someone especially the water tribe, we'd be in huge trouble!" The blond one said. The other two smirked. "Yeah but what's the fun in listening to the rules? Rules were made to be broken. Right Gray?" The white haired one asked. The boy she assumed named Gray nodded.

"Those rules are stupid. I mean why do we have to hate the water mages just because they said we had to?" Gray said. Juvia smiled when she heard that. So there are some ice mages that believe the same thing as her. Her heart began beating loudly causing her to place her hand over it so the guys won't hear it.

The blond one must've heard it because he began looking around as if he were searching for something. "You guys hear that?" The blond asked. The other guys looked confused. "Hear what?" The white haired one asked. "It sounded like a thumping noise almost like a really loud heartbeat or something." He said. The white haired one rose a brow and laughed at him.

"Oh Eve, you're hearing stuff again! It's hard to hear someone's heartbeat." The white haired one said. The boy named Eve made an annoyed face. "I'm serious Lyon I think there might be someone here." Eve said. Gray looked alarmed by that comment. "Holy shit what if there is a water mage spy watching us right now?" Gray asked looking around anxiously. Lyon began to panic with them.

"Dudes we gotta get outta here!" Lyon said. The boys began running back to their side of the springs as quick as they could. Gray accidentally slipped on a rock causing his chain to break off. He didn't seem to mind, so he continued running. When they were out of sight, Juvia ran up to where Gray left his chain.
