Chapter 8: A Big Royal Welcome

The Next Day...
The next morning when I woke up, I had to wake up around six o'clock in the morning so I can get dress and eat breakfast on time before the royal carriage arrived to pick me and Ben up to take us to Auradon Prep. After getting dress and eating breakfast, me and Ben said "goodbye" to Belle and Adam and got in the royal carriage to take us to school. While in the carriage Ben asked me "So you ready for today?" I didn't know what to say. I was very nervous, actually. "Uh... Sure?", I said to Ben which made him hold my hand and rub it. "Don't worry, everything will be fine. I promise.", he said which made me feel a little bit better. I was still nervous about having new students from another place come to Auradon, but I kept calm and tried to think on things and goals I can do for these people. My idea was that if I could make these Vks good, then maybe they can more friendly instead of being very wicked. I just hoped my idea will work. The only way to find out was to think, keep calm, make a good impression, and hope on a miracle. After a twenty minute carriage ride to Auradon Prep, me and Ben headed up to our dorms and got ourselves ready before the Vks arrived. "Hey, I'll see you later. I need to tell the limo driver where he needs to go when he's picking up the Vks. Just make sure your ready by noon.", said Ben as he sounded like he was in a rush. But I didn't argue, so I just said "Ok" and headed straight up my dorm to get myself ready. As I was passing the hallway up the first floor, I bumped into Doug by accident, making him drop his glasses. "Oh Doug, I'm so sorry.", I said while giving him his glasses. "It's fine, thanks. I'm in rush too, I need to head to band practice so I can practice the opening ceremony song for the Vks when they arrive.", said Doug as he was putting back on his glasses and grabbing his trumpet. As I was shaking my head at him, my mind just hit an idea. "Hey Doug, I'v been thinking. Since this is my first time meeting evil children, can you and the band do me an opening song when the Vks arrive? I just want to make a good impression and introduce myself to them.", I said to Doug. "Sure.", he said as he started to walk away. This made me stop him. "Wait, your not going to argue or say I don't know?", I said to him while looking confused. He then said to me "Why would I do that? You're a princess. Everything you need or ask is in your command.", he said to me. As I felt like it sounded weird, I then thought to myself "Ok, why not?" I said "thank you" to Doug and went up the second floor to find my dorm. Once I got inside my dorm, I went to my wardrobe, found the perfect dress to wear, and got myself dressed in the changing station. I wore a black dress that was knee high like a fancy business dress, had clear leggings on, and wore black flat shoes to make myself look professional and gorgeous. For my hair, I put it up into a high ponytail so I wouldn't have to worry about the wind blowing in my face or messing up my hair. And for accessories I put on a rose gold necklace with a butterfly, golden earrings, and wore my new diamond crusted bracelet that was a handmade gift from Doug.

I looked at myself in the mirror to make sure I look good, and I did. While admiring myself in the mirror, I heard my door knocking, thinking it was Ben to tell me that the Vks will be here any minute. But when I opened the door, it wasn't Ben. Instead, it was Jim. He wore a yellow and black jacket that had a "A" which stood for Auradon, he had a blue shirt inside the jacket, blue jeans, and had black sneakers on. When we both saw each other at the door, we both had are eyes on each other. It looks like we both adored the outfits we wore. "Oh! Hi Jim, you look great.", I said to him. He then said to me "Thanks, you look lovely today.", he said which made me blush. We both stared at each other for another minute, until I said "So you must be ready to meet the Vks too, am I right?" He then said to me "Yeah! I'm a little nervous about this, actually. You sure Ben wants to do this?" "Yeah, but don't worry. I have a plan to make these Vks feel welcomed into Auradon, maybe even good too.", I said to Jim. He then shook his head "Ok" and kept his eye on me again. I did the same thing as well. While we were looking at each other, I heard the noon bell rung, which reminded me about how the Vks are coming at any minute. "Uh, Jim! I love to stay and chat with you, but I have to be outside in five minutes so I can meet the Vks. But I'll catch you later, ok?", I said to Jim. He then said "Sure, I need to go anyway too. I have to get the dorms ready for the Vks, but I'll see you later too." He then said "bye" to me and closed the door behind him. As I was still thinking about how me and Jim are so close, I just remembered I have to make sure I'm completely ready when the Vks arrive. I just hope they're not that bad.
Three Minutes Later...
I heard a car honk, a band playing, and cheering coming outside from my balcony window. That must've mean the Vks are here. I was looking out the window and saw the limo parked in the middle of the school entrance. "I hope these people are nice. I hope these people are nice.", I said as I was repeating the same sentence over and over again. I left my dorm and went downstairs to get my big entrance ready, although I felt like I was going to be actually sick. "Your majesty, we are ready for your surprising entrance. Are you ready?", said a fellow band member. I couldn't believe I was saying this, so I said "Yes! Let's do it!" "Alright then, I'll alert the band. When the doors open, you start walking down the blue carpet.", the band member told me again as he went outside. I wasn't nervous anymore. Instead, I felt happy and excited about this now. "Well, it's too late to turn back now.", I said to myself. Once I heard trumpets playing, I heard a band member say "Students of Auradon Prep, let us show some respect for our princess of Auradon. Please welcome the lost princess of Auradon, Princess Genesis Ralda!" I heard an applause going on outside, which made me blush and feel better; this time I was ready. The doors swung opened and I saw a lot of students clapping and waving at me. Even though I was blushing a lot, I walked down the blue carpet, waved my hand at all the students, and gave a few kiss blows. As I was making my way down the carpet, I saw the new kids. And they looked like serious business; but none of that was stopping me now. As I was making my way down to Ben and Audrey who looked very fancy, a few band members grabbed my left hand and kissed it. I felt so uncomfortable, but yet adored. After that, I finally got to the Vks. Once I saw them all, I was completely scared this time. Because they looked like they didn't want to be here. But I kept my cool and relaxed, but I was still thinking about what did they think about my performance; didn't they like it? Did they made fun of me? As I was thinking, Ben then spoke "Genesis, these are the new students. Why don't you introduce yourself to them?" "No need to. You've already said her name, so now we know.", said the teenage girl with purple hair. I thought she was making fun of me, but I thought it was funny too. As I walked to the first Vk, Ben then said "Genesis, that's Evie." I walked over to Evie and shook her hand. She didn't look too bad to me. Instead, she looked happy to be here. She had blue hair, light brown eyes, had on apple red lipstick, she wore a long blue sleeve jacket that looked like something her mother wears, she had on a heart jewel necklace with a crown on it, had on black gloves with the finger tips cut off, wore a black skirt with yellow, blue, red, and, white writing on it that I couldn't read, had on white leggings with black trees to make it a design, had black fat high heel boots which looked super cool to me, and had a purse that was in the shape of her mother's box she had when she wanted to get Snow White's heart. To me she looked super fabulous and pretty instead of looking evil and ugly. "Hi Evie, nice to meet you. I love your fashion, it's so cute.", I said to Evie which made her smile. "Thanks! This is one of my best outfits to wear.", said Evie while looking happy. After I shook her hand again, I moved on to the next Vk. "That's Carlos.", said Ben again. He had white hair with a little bit of black just like his mother, light brown eyes, he had freckles on his face, he wore a white and black coat with red sleeves, had on red gloves that looked just liked Evie's, wore a black shirt inside, had black and white pants on, and wore dark brown boots. To me I thought he looked exactly just like his mother, but in a good way. "Hi Carlos it's so nice to-", I said as I stopped talking. Because I just noticed there was chocolate on his face and in his hand when I shook it. "Um, nice to meet you. Mmm.. I'm guessing you like chocolate, I like chocolate too.", I said as I shook his hand quickly and licked the chocolate off of my index finger. "Nice to meet you too.", said Carlos as he was sucking the chocolate off his thumb, which I thought was kinda disgusting. After greeting myself to him, I moved on to the next Vk. And it was the girl that was talking early. "That's Mal.", Ben said again. But only this time, he was looking at her; which made Audrey had a weird expression on her face. When I saw Mal, I knew that she looked like a tough girl. But she was pretty cool. She had dark purple hair that was cut short, grey eyes, she wore a purple long sleeve jacket with a bit of pink and green, she had black gloves on with the tips cut off expect one off them had a chain, she had on purple pants with a lot of rip holes going down the ankles, and wore black boots that looked just liked Evie's. To me I thought she looked like a dragon type girl, and of course she was because she's the daughter of Maleficent. "Hi Mal, nice to meet you. You look cool, I like your hair. Purple is my favorite color too.", I said to Mal. But all she did was just shook my hand. "Good for you.", she said to me coldly. I didn't want to get on her nerves or anything, so I moved on to the last Vk. "And last but not least, this is Jay.", said Ben again. I walked over to Jay and saw his outfit. He had long dark brown hair, wore a red beanie that made him look like a thug, he had dark brown eyes, he had large muscles, he wore a earring on his right ear, he wore a leather short sleeve shirt that was red and yellow, wore black gloves with the tips cut off, had on blue tight jeans, and had on black boots that looked just liked Carlos'. To me he looked like a thief and kinda strong. "Well it's nice to meet you J-", I said. But as I was about to finish my sentence and finish shaking his hand, I looked into Jay's eyes. I felt a weird feeling going on in my head, thinking about how I never saw a man like Jay before. As I was still looking at Jay, everyone was still looking at me. Even Jay, which made him look confused. "Oh! Um! Nice to meet you.", I said as I was walking away from him. But that was until I suddenly almost tripped on my shoe. I got up and checked to see if I was ok. But as I was checking, I heard Jay giggling. "Wow! You better watch your steps next time, princess.", he said to me. But I knew he was kidding, so I didn't argue. I then went back to stand next to Ben and Audrey and tried to act natural. "This is a momentous occasion. As our two people rise and meet a once.", said Ben as he put his arm around me. Mal then said to Ben "Or the day you show four peoples where the bathrooms are.". This made me giggle a bit. "A little over the top?", Ben asked Mal. "Little more then a little bit.", said Mal. "So much for my first impression.", said Ben. As I saw both of them staring at each other, Audrey then interrupted them. "Hey! You're Maleficent's daughter, right? Oh! My mom's Aurora. Sleeping-", said Audrey until Mal cut her off. "Beauty! Yeah, I heard of the name.", she said to Audrey. "Listen I totally don't blame your mother for nearly killing my parents.", said Audrey which made me look at Mal. I was thinking that she was being made fun of. Mal then said "Well I totally don't blame your grandparents for inviting everyone in their entire kingdom, except my mother, to your mother's stupid crystaling." That was immediately way to far of what she said, I felt like no one was even making friends right now. Audrey then spoke again to Mal "Hey, all water under the bridge?" Mal then said "Toats!" They then started laughing in a weird way, and then stopped and looked at each other again. "Awkward.", I whispered. "Ok! Well, let me give you the tour.", said Ben as he clapped his hands and told the Vks about Auradon and how it was made. As we were all walking to the statue of his father in the middle of the school, Ben clapped his hands twice and the statue turned from a man to a beast. As it was forming, I heard screaming from one of the Vks. It was from Carlos, who was in Jay's arms like a baby. This made me laugh a bit. "Carlos, it's ok. My dad wanted his statue to form from beast to man, to remind us all that anything is possible.", said Ben who was looking at Carlos and the other Vks. "Does he shed much?", said Mal who was asking Ben about the statue. Ben then said "Yeah, my mom won't let him on the couch." This made me laugh and to have Mal make a weird yet funny look on her face when she was looking at Ben. As we were all walking inside the building, I saw that Carlos was released from Jay's arms and he was still starring at the statue. Clapping his hands to see it morph into a human again. This made me giggle. I walked up to Carlos and said "Hey, it's ok. Come on, we don't want to get left behind." Carlos was still looking at the statue and walking at the same time, then he started running to catch up with the others. Once we were all in the building, Ben was still explaining the history of Auradon. Which made me think of why didn't he tell me any of this when I first came to Auradon. "So this place is known for its spells?", said Mal while looking around the building. "That's right! Our royal blood goes back from a hundred years.", said Audrey. She and Mal were laughing again and then stopped, which made me feel awkward again. As Ben and I was looking at each other, he then called Doug and said "If you guys have any questions feel free to-". But before Ben can talk Audrey interrupted him. "Ask Doug!", she said to the Vks. "Well, I hope you guys like it here. And if you have questions, you can ask me too.", I said to the Vks. "Well, see you later.", said Ben as he left with Audrey. Which means I was alone with the Vks. "Well I better get going now, but I hope to see you all tomorrow. Have a nice day.", I said to the Vks as they only waved "bye" at me. Once I left, I went back up to my dorm and laid down on my bed, thinking about what has just happened lately. "Have a nice day?! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!", I said while hitting my head multiple times. Even though I know this is going to be different, tomorrow is another day.
