chapter sixteen

I have been running for hours through the forest. The wind felt good. But there is a nagging inside me that won't go away. I screamed and sat on the floor. I'm annoyed. That's an emotion. That's not good. I'm suppose to not care. I growl and hiss and the nagging continues.
It's been a few hours since it saw Demitri and it's been going on since I left him.
I stand frustrated. I walk until I find a road. I smirked. Perfect.
I lay in the middle of the road and wait until I here the sound of a purring engine. Perfect.
Dinner.
The car came to a screeching Holt next to me. The bumper skimming my arm. I kept still as I heard the drivers door open.
"Hey miss? You okay? You need me to phone the ambulance?" The driver to the car asked. I sat up and looked at him. Handsome. At inhuman speed I was in front of him. Eye to eye. Chest to chest. Toe to toe.
"Keep calm. Don't move. Don't scream" I compelled. He nodded.
"I wish everyone was like you.... So obedient. So relaxed." I murmured. "Well then again you can't just compel everyone you meet now can you?" I smirked as I leaned into his neck.
"Don't kill me. I have children at home waiting for me." He said, his voice shaking. That stopped me.
"Children?" I asked taking a step back. He nodded.
"Forget you ever met me." I compelled and ran off.
I can't do this. I need to do something.

I pull out my new phone from my bra and dial Niks number. 

He picks up on the first ring. 

"WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?" He screams down the phone. 

"Nik, I- I dont know what to do... there was this man and i wanted to feed and- and he stopped me he said he had his children at home... I-I cant do this. The pain its leaking through the wall I have built Nik. I cant cope. Please help me... I turned it on. I need help. I killed. Oh my gosh I am a monster. Nik! I kissed Kol. I left Demitri. I need to find him. Oh my gosh. Nik help me!" I hyperventilate. I need help. I dont want to be here any more. 

"Calm down, Lil. Where are you?" He asks urgently. I look around, with blury eyes from tears that are welling up ready to cascade down my face. 

"I-I am in a... err.. forest. A forest" I mumble. "Nik. I need to go home. I need to see my family." I say quietly. I heard movement on the other end of the line then quietness. 

"Okay... I will buy you plane ticket now. Get here as soon as possible okay, darling?" He says. I could tell he was frowning, obviously upset with my decision. 

"I am sorry, Nik. I dont need a plane ticket. I will transport my self there with magic. Remember I am a witch as well." I say with a little smile. "I love you, Nik. You are like a brother to me." I mumble knowing he can hear perfectly. 

"I love you too." He says and then i hang up. I close my eyes and think of La push. I think of everything there. I feel a rush of wind and open my eyes. Here I am. Home. Something is missing.

Demitri. Gosh I was a bitch to him. I will find him tomorrow and explain everything. But right now... I am home with my real family.
