Back Again (Draft)

Chapter 5

We get back home and I see Ryder sitting on the steps of the front, he stands up as soon as he sees the car pull in. When Jae stops the car I grab the box and open the door closing it behind me "Brook oh thank god your ok, I'm so.." [I cut him off] "don't" I brush past him walking in "BROOK PLEASE" he yells.

 I walk into my room and just lay on my bed staring at the ceiling I had the perfect life pictured as a kid, I'd grow up find a good man who loved me and cared for me, I'd open a small bakery on the out skirts of town, raise two kids, hell I had thought of names for girls I had always loved Annalise,Mary and Jess ~after my mother~ and for boys I always loved Caleb and Jason, we'd have a dog and another animal that the kids wanted, we'd live in this beautiful country side home with a huge backyard, and best of all we wouldn't have to worry about anything. 

A sudden knock on the door awakens me from my fantasy " Brook it's me, Mason told me what happened, can you let me in" an old voice says "it's unlocked Ruby" I say, I've known Ruby since we were little, her name suits her, her ruby red hair is hard to miss, it goes with her loud personality, but she's a sweetheart, she's come from a rough family to, we lived next door to each other until we ran away, we took care of each other.

 She walks in closing the door behind her "death and snakes?" She asks smiling "don't forget the margaritas" I say back, she sits next to me on the bed "I debating on slapping or hugging you" she says and I sigh "I don't care anymore, do what you want" she just looks at me in shock "he was real bad wasn't he" she says grabbing my hand and holding it close to her heart "as bad as the last one I guess" I say "Brook can I ask you something" she says " yea of course Ruby" I say sitting up " why don't you go out with Mason or Jae or someone in the group, someone you trust" my heart breaks as she says that " something happened before you joined......it was real bad....since then I've refused to date anyone here" I say tear rolling down my cheek "Logan" she's says quietly " so they told you" I say "yea, when I joined its all people could talk about, but I didn't want to ask" she's says looking down.

 I wipe the tear from my eye "ask away, it's been years I need to start talking about it, so ask away" I say sitting up in the bed "what was he like?" She asks, I smile remembering his face "well......
