"You've got to be kidding me!", An annoyed Keith screamed as he slammed his fists into the castle's defences.
"I'm sorry Keith but Coran won't have it fixed by tomorrow morning. Tonight we'll sleep under the stars", Allura spoke in a calm tone. The castle had malfunctioned, shutting off all possible entrances, shutting the paladins, Coran and Princess Allura outside.
It was Lance's turn to argue, "But what if the Galra come in our sleep?!".
"We'll be fine", Shiro comforted, Dad mode kicking in, "the trees will shelter us and we still have our weapons just in case". Keith snorted and stormed off, clearly not convinced. Pidge was helping Coran with the ship and Shiro had gone off to find some food. That left just Lance. He sighed and began to wonder, looking for something to do. After about 30 minutes, he came across a beautiful lake, decorated with flowers of every colour you could ever imagine.
"Holy mother of Keith" he whispered, mesmerised by the sunset. The sky was bright pink with hints of orange and red, perfectly reflected on the crystal clear water. All of a sudden, Lance heard a familiar voice from behind him, "cool, right?". He spun around to see none other than his arch nemesis: Keith Kogane.
"Oh. It's mullet" Lance sighed before sitting down by the water. Keith confused him. Keith felt different to Lance. He made him feel a way no male had ever done before. He'd only ever felt that way looking at girls. It frustrated him to not understand how he was feeling and he found the easiest way of expressing that was through anger and fighting with Keith. He rested his head on his knees and dabbled his fingers in the water, watching the ripples distort the picture on the surface.
Keith sat down next to him,"Can I ask you something?".
"Sure"
"Why do you hate me so much?" Keith looked up from his feet, his face plastered with wonder.
"I-I d-don't hate y-you..." Lance stuttered, avoiding eye contact.
"Then why are you always pissed at me!?" Keith skimmed a stone on the water, agitated and saddened.
"Keith..."
"Yeah?"
"Are you a painting?" Lance smirked.
"No..."
"Because I'd like to nail you against a wall"
"What?..." Keith smiled and raised one eyebrow.
"Do you know the alphabet? Because I'd like to give you the 4th letter".
"Lance....." Keith rolled his eyes.
"Shhhhhhhhh! I'm on a roll!" Lance grinned, forgetting the awkwardness of the situation, "do you know how many planets there are?"
"I don't know, a lot? Where's this going?"
"Well there's gonna be one less tonight after I destroy Uranus" Lance winked, causing Keith to nearly fall into the water laughing.
"Why are you laughing? That one was good!" Lance started to giggle.
Keith suddenly pointed to the sky, "make a wish!". Lance followed his finger to find a shooting star hurtling past. Closing his eyes, he made his wish, wishing harder than he ever had before. Lance opened his eyes and hauled himself off the ground, next to an already standing Keith.
"What did you wish for?" Lance whispered, poking the shorter boy in the arm.
"You really want to know?" Keith smirked, receiving an excited nod from Lance. Their lips crashed together as Keith snaked his arms around his crush's waist, smiling into the kiss. Lance froze for a split second to register what was happening but did not pull away. Gripping Keith's face, he pulled him closer, never wanting to let go.
