Chapter 2 Where Have You Been?

Michael’s POV

It’s been 3 days since school started, and Meaghan hasn’t come to school yesterday. I was egger to get out of bed this morning, hoping to see her today. I got my binders from my locker and went up to English. I sat in my usual seat with my friends. I was zoned out, just watching classmates come into class or other students shuffling their way to their class. The bell rang and the teacher shut the door to start teaching. No Meaghan again? Maybe she will show up in Math. I shrugged, trying to pay attention to the teacher, but I couldn’t help but get stuck thinking about Meaghan.

Its lunch now and Meaghan hasn’t shown up. I know she won’t come today. I hope she’s okay. I got out my phone and texted her.

Hey, are you okay? You weren’t in English or Math. And didn’t come to school yesterday. You alright? ~Michael

It took a while for Meaghan to answer, but she did.

My mum died. ~Meaghan

I gasped, getting my friends attention.

“You alright?” Ashton asked me. I nodded my head.

“Meaghan’s mum died.” The guys all started to mumble, ‘oh my god’ ‘that’s horrible’ ‘I hope Meaghan is okay.’ I just texted Meaghan, zoning them out.

Awe I’m sorry to hear that. I will be praying for you. I am here for you if you need me alright? ~Michael

The bell rang. I groaned and put my phone away, standing up and went to my locker. I grabbed my Science binder and went up to class. The rest of the day, thinking of Meaghan, just like this morning.
