Chapter 3 You're Back! But Leaving Again?

Michael’s POV

I waited and waiting for Meaghan to come inside English. Everyone was sitting with their friends and talking, just like normal. I am zoned out, waiting for the beautiful girl. A smile curled up on my face when she walked in and took a seat in front of me.

“Hey Meaghan!” I exclaimed, through all the other chit chatters.

“Hi Michael.” She said. I frowned. Her voice sounds so hurt, so broken.

“You alright?” I asked her.                                

“I’m fine.”

The bell rang and everyone took their seats as Miss Summer closed to door and started to talk. I’m just glad that Meaghan is here.

Its lunch and the first 2 periods went by really slow. I would sit beside Meaghan in the cafeteria, but I can’t find her. I sat down beside Luke. He looked at me and seemed to notice my attitude.  

“Michael what’s up?” Luke asked me. This caught Ashton and Calum’s attention too.

“Have you seen Meaghan? She was just in Math class with me and Calum.”

“In the Office.” Luke said. I turned around and sure enough she was. Why was she in there? I went to the office door and opened it.

“You may leave now.” The lady behind the desk said. Meaghan nodded and turned. She gave me a forced smile and went past me. I followed her to her locker.

“Where are you going?” I asked her concerned.

“My dad called me and the school. He wants me to go home.” She said opening her locker and gathering all the things she needs.

“Why does he want you to go home?” I asked.

“Because mum died and he needs help.” She zipped up her bag and put it around her shoulder.

“Okay, but you just got here. You have to catch up on work.” I said, wanting her to stay so I can see her more.

“I’m not worried about school.” She said and shut her locker door and locked it. We started to walk back to the cafeteria.

“Can’t you just stay today?”

“No I can’t. I have to leave.” She said and walked out the doors. The bell rang and everyone got up and went to their lockers. I did too, thinking of Meaghan.
