Chapter R (6) Sneaky? Not Really

Michael’s POV

I took Meaghan’s hand in mine, as we went quietly into her house. We went upstairs to her room, trying to not wake up her sleeping, drunk ‘father.’ She grabbed everything she needed. We went back downstairs.

“Who the hell are YOU?” Her ‘father’ yelled. He growled and pulled my ear, dragging me out of the house.

“Let go of him!” I heard Meaghan yell and came up and punched him. He looked pissed. He took me and threw me to the ground. He darted to Meaghan and lifted her up over his shoulder. I tried to get up, but my back kept hurting. I saw him take Meaghan down the stairs.

“LET ME GO!” Meaghan cried out. I groaned in pain but got up. I winced as my back hurt even more, but I ignored it. I walked as fast as I could to the basement. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Meaghan was tied up on a poll and her ‘father’ was whipping her with his black leather belt. He whipped Meaghan and hearing her scream in pain made my blood boil. I ran as fast as lightning towards her father and pushed him to the ground. I sat on him, punching him countless times on any body part I saw that belonged to him. When he tried to flip me to the ground, I kneed his side. Soon enough he was out cold. I got off him and went to Meaghan. I untied her and carried her bridal style upstairs. I sat her down on the couch. No way we can walk to my house. It’s getting dark outside, and in the pain we both are in, we should just take it easy. I got out my cell phone and texted Ashton to come get us. I put Meaghan in my lap and she put her head on my chest. She closed her eyes and fell asleep.

Ashton opened the door and looked disgusted when he saw the condition of the house.

“I’ll explain later, but get her bags and put them in your car.” Ashton nodded his head and went for the bags. I carried Meaghan to Ashton’s car. I set her down on a seat and I sat next to her. I put her head in my lap. After Ashton put the bags in the trunk, we left.
