Halo had carried me to the bed room and placed me in the chair near the bed. I looked at him then tried to get up and run but he only caught me and put me back in the chair.
"What did he mean by a Ruff ride?"
Halo only shook his head.
"He was probably just messing. "
I could hear the tension in his voice. That only happens when he is lying. I continued to look at him.
"What!?"
He held his hands up in surrender.
"I know you are lying Halo. I been here since I was 14 and had to be with you all these years. I know when you are lying to me."
He let out a sigh.
"We are heading into a storm. If you looked out the window you could see the storm clouds. That is what he meant by ruff."
My eyes widen and I thought I was about to have a heart attack.
"What do you mean a storm! We can fly through that!"
"Yes we can and we have to."
"But..."
"No, we are going to be fine and nothing is going to happen."
I glared at him. He simply walked over and forced a smile on my lips with his fingers. I batted his hand away and glared again.
"Stop that. It is gross and rude!"
He laughed.
"Yeah and when do we care about manners, I mean it is not like we kill people for a living."
I tried to keep a straight face but only broke into a smile.
"I guess you are right."
I got up and went and lie down on the mattress. I stared at the ceiling hoping to calm my mind. Halo laid beside me looking at the same spot I was.
"What exactly are we looking at."
I turned my head to him.
"Nothing, nothing at all."
I smiled and he finally turned and looked at me.
"Well now we are not staring at nothing."
I furrowed my eye brows.
"What do you mean?"
"Well for a starters I am staring at a pretty girl, whose name used to be Vile Colbolt and is now know as Nate."
I smiled at his comments. It has been a while since I heard my name.
"Well I am staring at a cute guy with blond hair and the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. His name used to be Josh Bolt and is now know as Halo my partner in crime."
He smiled at me.
"I am cute huh?"
He rose his eye brows at me and laughed. I laughed as well and patted his cheek.
"Sure pretty boy."
Then I rolled off the bed and went towards the door. I heard him sit up.
"Now where are you going?"
"What, am I not aloud to go get orange juice?"
He laughed and walked near me.
"Well I want some so let's go."
Once the sun went down me and Halo staid in the bedroom, saying we would more then likely break something if we tried to stumble through the dark hallways. We were both laying on the bed looking at the ceiling, that we no longer could see.
"Halo?"
I felt movement.
"Yes, my majesty?"
I smiled a bit.
"Do you think we will ever be able to sleep when we are together, because I mean we tried last night and we couldn't sleep, and now we are together we can't sleep."
He laughed at me which I guess was funny that I was talking about this after all. I mean I am not really that kind of person.
"Yeah maybe on day. But I mean we are on a plane it is not exactly the easiest place to sleep. And last night we were on cots. They are not exactly the most comfy thing in the world."
Now it was my turn to laugh.
"Ok. I mean I guess that makes sense."
I went silent and I could feel his gaze over me.
"Was that all?"
He asked and I turned at him so I could see the outline of his body next to me.
"Yes, I guess so. I think I am just nervous about the mission that is all."
"Why?"
"I don't know? It might be because this kid is a trained spy. He will know we are assassin if we act like we do. We don't exactly fit into a school of normal kids. We have knowledge way past our years and..."
"Wow, slow down their deary. Their is nothing to worry about. We will be ok. If this kid wants to pick a fight then we take him down and deliver what we promised. The boy alive and able to answer questions."
"But still, he will be trained to fight and to get into heads. He is a Russian spy after all. Who knows if the US will have people in there spying or protecting him."
"If so we can take them down. We are the two top assassins in that hell hole. We can do this."
I stayed silent trying to think. This is a rare assignment. Most people in the academy don't leave at all, but the country is a one in a million thing for us. One because it will be easy to escape and two it is easy to be caught.
"Nate, don't forget I have your back and nothing will happen. I will make sure of that. You will get back safe, even if I have to give up my life to do so."
Right then and there I snapped.
"Don't you dare say that! If it comes down to saving me or yourself. You save yourself. I can't lose another person that care about because they wanted to protect me. You will not give up your life for mine!"
"You can't choose what I do Nate!"
"When it comes down to my life. Yes I can!"
"No!"
"And why is that Halo! Hmm. Tell me why can't I make up my own choice for my life?"
"Because I care for you! A lot more then you think I care for you! You are more then a partner and more then a friend to me. I...."
"You what Halo?"
"I can't lose you."
I sighed and moved closer to Halo.
"You won't loose me I will make sure of that."
I snuggled in next to Halo. He gently placed an arm around me and I put my head on his chest. I can't loose you too. I thought this. I can't loose Halo. He means too much to me.
