My next class was Science. Sail seemed upset with me. I think she was jealous of me and her boyfriend talking all the way here. And I was right, as soon as he left she pulled me in the corner where no on was at.
"What the hell! I am trying to be nice to you and then you go hit on my boyfriend?!"
I held my hands up in surrender.
"I didn't even touch him!"
I knew me taking her "sarcasm" literal would make her even madder so I did it.
"Not literal you dumbo, I mean flirting with him."
"Oh... why would I flirt with him when I have a boyfriend?"
I gave her a confused look and she got all flustered and walked away with a silent scream of frustration. Leaving me to find the teacher on my own. I walked into the room Sail was sitting in and walked to up to the lady at the desk. She had long brown hair and green eyes. She looked very young maybe 30, maybe less. She seemed to be busy writing on the papers in front of her so I had to speak up.
"Um.... excuse me, I am the new student from Sweeden."
She quickly looked up and smiled at me.
"Ah. Nate I just had Halo in here the class before this. I am Mrs. Bell..."
She held her hand out and I shook it.
"Your seat will be over by Molly."
As soon as I heard the name I smiled and looked for the familiar face and saw her walk in went and sat next to her.
"Nate! I am so glad we have a class together."
I let out a sigh of relief.
"Believe me not as happy as me."
She laughed.
"So who is your tour guid?"
I rolled my eyes and out my head on the desk and looked over at Sail then back to Molly.
"Oh god you poor thing! You are stuck with Sail all day!?"
Molly whispered to me.
"Yeah tell me about it. She hates me, she said I was showing off in L.A. class, when I was just writing what was little to my school. The she thought I was flirting with her boyfriend."
Molly sighed.
"Don't take it to heart she is a bitch at heart. Their is nothing you can do. She is head cheerleader... by the way are you going to do any sports?"
I shrugged.
"I don't know. I mean it depends on how busy I am. I am in all advance classes and two college courses, so I mean I don't exactly have free time."
She pushed my shoulder playfully.
"Sheesh girl, you need a break from all that, join a sport. I mean like seriously."
I rolled my eyes.
"I don't know Molly. I will think about it."
As soon as I finished my sentence the bell rang.
After once again an intro, she started to hand out a test that they took and had me go into the hall to take it while the went over the answers. It was really easy, I learned all this stuff when I was at the academy. So when I came in when they were halfway threw the test with it completed front to back, the teacher looked at me amazed. Molly nudged me and smiled and mouthed.
"Nice job."
I smiled and mouthed back a thanks.
Once the class ended Molly said her good byes and I caught up with Sail who was walking fast to I think get away from me. To bad for her I am a trained assassin, I am hard to get rid of.
Like last time, as soon as we got to the class she ditched me for me to talk shyly to the teacher trying to keep up my cover and then out smarting the rest of the class. That was pretty much my school day all day. It was so boring, well except lunch all my new friends were in there. Other then that it was boring and I was actually wishing that I could be back at the academy, till the end of the day. That was until I ran into the boy I was supposed to kill. He was small, but a head taller then me. He had brown hair and blue eyes. He was lanky and muscular at the same time. He was talking to a group of boys, some that I recognized from Halo's friend group, so I walked up to them since I knew some of them.
"Hey Dean, Jack."
They all stopped talking once they saw me. The two boys smiled at me.
"Hey Halo's girl."
I laughed a bit at that. The boys smiled at each other and then waved me to stand next to them. I did.
"Hey Jack,Dean, you got to introduce us to her, I mean look at her she is an angel."
I blushed and the boy with red hair and freckles winked at me.
"Well this is Nate, Don, and that little dude is Quince, he is from Russia."
I smiled and held my hand out for them both to shake. But I then looked back to Quince.
"Finally another transfer student that knows my struggles."
He smiled.
"I know right, none of these Americans know what if is like outside of their country."
I giggled. I mean I actually giggled, I never do that. Any ways Quince had a very strong accent, much stronger then mine. Then the gym teacher walked in. Finally a work out.
"Ok, who is Nate!"
He said in a booming voice. I jumped and walked over to him. He held his hand out to me.
"Coach."
Was all he said.
"Now that is out of the way, I have to see where you start for athletic status stands."
I gave a wicked smile.
"To be honest with you I am not expecting much."
"Oh coach, I will shock you, I will tell you that."
"We will see about that Cole."
He used my fake last name as my first that was a first. Then he took me outside to some kind of course with rock walls monkey bars and much more.
"You will run this. I will time you to see how well you do."
He showed me to the start line and I got in a running start.
"Ok Cole.... take your mark..."
The he blew his whistle and I took of in a sprint while he ran to the other side. I easily ran up the wall flipped over the side, grabbed the monkey bars and hiked myself atop of them and ran across them. I bet no one ever done that. I then ran up a ramp and had to grab a pull up bar and use that to get to the top but that wasn't the fastest way, so I used the bar as a step and spider monkey up the wall. I reached the top and jumped to a beam and stealthily ran across it and then flipped and landed at the end of the finish line in front of the coach. He low whistled and I simple brushed my hands off. I noticed my class mates staring at me in amazement.
"Well Cole, that was the fastest and the newest way I have ever seen anyone do that course. The closest to your time was Quince. So you two will be partners and you were right you shocked me."
I looked back at my classmates again and noticed that Quince was the only one studying me.
We all walked back to the gym and Quince since he was my partnered with me walked next to me.
"Ok you people know the drill, partner up, then we will be racing. Boys plus Nate first group. For Nate you do 30 sit-ups, run a lap, then 20 push ups then your partner goes." I turned to Quince.
"Do you want to go or shall I?"
He smirked "I will start, you anchor."
I nodded and he lined up. Then they were off. I had to admit he was fast, he seemed to zig zag threw the others. Then it was my turn. I had to admit he was faster then me, but I was built to get threw things smartly and stealthily. Everything was really easy. It was sad when I did better push-ups then the boys but my group was the first done, shocker not. The girls and the coach clapped for us. We bowed and laughed together. We went and sat on the bleachers.
"So where did you learn to.... well do all that?"
He gestured to what we just did and the course.
"Well my family was big on working out so I was doing this stuff like my hole life."
For once what came out of my mouth wasn't a full lie.
"Really? Their is nothing more to it?"
He rose an eyebrow at me.
"I guess not. I am quiet simple."
"I doubt that."
He narrowed his eyes at me. I am pretty sure was suspicious of me. I bumped into his shoulder lightly and laughed.
"Stop giving me that look, I am not a spy."
He looked shocked that I said something like that and then nervously joined in laughing.
"Sorry, from where I come from it is hard to trust anyone."
I stopped laughing. And took his hand gave it a light squeeze.
"You and me both, but we can trust each other."
He smiled and i let go of his hand. We messed around the rest of gym class trying to beat the other at some competition. Once the bell rang we walked out of class laughed and sharing stories. I only stopped chatting once I saw Halo. I nudged his shoulder and pointed towards Halo.
"That is Halo."
We walked over to him. He smiled and wrapped his arm around me.
"Well, Babe are you going to introduce me to your new friend?"
Quince did it all for me he held his hand out to Halo.
"Quince, so you are the famous Halo I have heard from a few buds and your girl here."
He smiled.
"Yep that would be me."
Halo shook his hand. And then Dean, Molly, and Tiffy all came up.
"Well we should all go to the bus. See you latter Quince."
I gave a small wave then was walking to  the bus with my new friends.
Once on, the group forced me to sit with Halo, while the rest sat around us. Halo and I sat awkwardly next each other not sure how to react.
"So how was your first days?"
"Boring."
Halo and I said in sink.
"Well do you guys want to come to my house tonight for a sleep over?"
Asked Molly. We all nodded and she handed paper slips to all of us including the guys. Once it was mine and Halo's stop we got off with Mark. I gave him the paper Molly gave me for him, just in case he wanted to come. He looked down at it the back at me.
"What the hell is this for?"
"Molly is having a sleepover with the girls and guys and wanted you to come too."
He shrugged and threw the paper on the ground.
"I won't go. Not my kind of thing."
"Oh come on Mark it will be fun."
He ruled his eyes at Halo and I.
"You two have fun, I am going to enjoy my weekend."
Then he stormed off to the house and we walked behind him and went straight up stairs. I didn't have too much homework. Only a few things in math and history. Halo on the other hand had homework in almost everything. So when I was done I got up and walked down stairs. I saw Mark's mom cooking so I decided to go to the kitchen. I washed my hands and then tapped Tenny on the shoulder. She jumped and gave a small yelp and put and hand over her heart.
"God, Nate, you gave me a scare."
"Oh I am sorry, I was just curious if their was something you would like help with?"
She smiled sweetly at me.
"Oh it is quiet fine hun, why don't you go pick the vegetables from the garden."
She gave me a small basket and I smiled and gladly took it. I walked to the glass sliding door by the table and walked out to the yard to the small garden. I went threw finding ripe vegetables and carefully putting them in my basket. I smiled to myself on how normal this was. I wasn't running for my life. I wasn't trying to take one, and I wasn't trying to hide who I was. It was hard because it was just normal work not something out of the assassin book. The sun made it hot causing me to sweat and for my body to get weary and I couldn't help but smile on how happy I was. I wish I could live a life like this. Then I got that feeling someone was watching me. The hairs on my back stood up and I slowly stood and took in my surroundings. I turned in a slow circle and looked around but no one was there. I must be paranoid. I let out a slow breath and then went back to work picking. Once I was done with the basket full and me a sweaty mess, I went towards the house. I set the basket next to the sink and started the water. I filled it with water and slowly put the vegetables in the sink to have them cleaned. Then grabbed the veg tray from the fridge and started to place them on and neatly put them back. I turned to Tenny sitting smiling at me. I folded my hand and was about to ask if their was anything else I could do but the door flew in. A tall man with brown hair walked in. He was scowling and seemed to have a permanent scowl on his face. I quickly scrambled out of the kitchen that he has entered and grabbed a beer out of. And only when he turned did he notice me.
"Who the hell are you?"
He seemed to growl at me. I strained up a bit and smoothed down my clothes.
"I am Nate Cole, I am the girl from Sweden."
He grunted then walked into to the living room and sat down on the couch. He didn't even say hi to his wife. I noticed she had tensed up and wouldn't look anywhere but her feet. I walked out of the room and ran to my room. I flew the door open making Halo jump.
"Nate? Are you ok?"
I slowly sat down and looked at me.
"Mark's father is home, you should probably come down and meet him."
Right on point Mark's father yelled.
"Kids! Get your butts down here and do your jobs! Damn fools!"
Halo and I exchanged a look and ran out of the room racing down the stairs to find Mark there as well.
"We have two freaking fool boys in my house and the only one I find working when I get home is the brat working!?"
He pointed his stubby finger at me and I gulped. Halo protectively put me behind him.
"I am sorry sir, but I was doing school work that is due Monday, so was Mark."
Halo's voice was cold and Mark's father seemed shocked that he was talked back to. He walked up and put a finger on Halo's chest. Halo took a breath in.
"Listen here boy, you are in MY house, so that means my rules. You work when you get home. Do you understand?"
Halo let the breath out. I knew that was his way of calming down.
"Sorry sir, but I had to get my work from school done, that was how I was taught when I was younger. Sweden is a bit different then America."
Then Mark's dad smacked Halo. Oh shit. This is not going to be good. Halo grabbed his face and I saw his eyes go cold, his jaw tensed and I stepped between the two of them.
"Sir, you have to forgive us we do not mean to disrespect you in any matter. We see just not used to your ways. We will get to work right away."
I grabbed Halo's hand and took him outside where Mark was. We looked in the window to see Mark's mom working hard at cooking and neatly putting food in plates and getting out a pitcher and making lemonade. Why is a women like that with a guy so bad?
"She would leave but she can't, he threatened to take me away."
Mark spoke the answer to my thoughts. I stared at him and he shrugged.
"People ask me that all the time. Now that you have met my dad you know why I don't go to "sleep overs" or "parties". It is because I am terrified of what he would do if I asked."
He grabbed the shovel and started to dig at what looked like a path that they where putting in. Halo followed his example and started to dig out the grass to help. I would of help with that but I desired to grab the weeding tools and start doing the fifty million gardens that they had.
After what seemed like hours of work, we were finally called in for dinner. We each walked in taking off our shoes, washing our hands and grabbing a plate and glass then sitting down at the giant table. The dad seemed to have calm down and the mom was smiling kindly at us.
"So you two are from Sweden?"
The father asked scaring me out of my thoughts.
"Yes sir."
Halo still had coldness in his voice and the father noticed too.
"I would stop talking to me like that, son."
I gulped and grabbed Halo's hand from under the table instantly calming.
"I am sorry sir, my boyfriend is not good at first impressions, but he is normally much nicer."
I smiled at the father and he smiled back and winked. I got shivers that went down my spine but I didn't show it. When I caught Halo glaring when Mark's father wasn't watching I kicked him in the shin.
"Ow!"
He then reached down and rubbed his calf. The rest of the family looked at us and I gave them an inanest smile. And then glared at Halo, mouthing to be good
