Ever since I heard those whispers I could not concentrate on anything at all. I could not sleep that night I was thinking about it the whole night .Neither could my friends, we are all too freaked out to even talk about it. Even at school we are all to nervous to talk much. But at last Adira breaks the ice.
"So.....'' She says. "Do you guys wanna talk about what we heard?'' And she immediately receives a sharp look that can bore through brick walls from Lizzie and I .
"Come on guys'' she pleads ''We have to talk about it. Sooner or later its gonna come out so why not we just talk about it now?''
Elizabeth and I look at each other. ''I guess you're right.'' I say slowly looking at Adira. Elizabeth shakes her head and sighs '' Ok then, but i still don't really feel comfortable talking about it.''
"Ok so first things first. What did you guys hear?'' Adira asks us.
"Well i heard a raspy voice whispering something like your time is nearly up and we are coming for you." I reply.
"I heard the exact same thing.." Elizabeth mutters.
"Me too." Says Adira.
"This is kind of creepy." Lizzie says rubbing her arms. "I don't like it, not one bit!"
"I know right. I didn't even sleep last night." I tell them.
"I heard the same thing" Adira starts to say "But honestly I wanna-" She stops.
"Wanna do what?" I question curiously.
She takes in a deep breath and continues. "I wanna find out what made those whispers."
Lizzie and I stay silent for awhile. We look at her as if she's sprouted another head.
"Are you crazy??" I exclaim.
"Have you lost your shucking mind??" Elizabeth yells.
"Guys lets be real here." Adira sighs, "Can you both honestly look me in the eyes and tell me you don't wanna find out where did the whisper come from?"
Elizabeth immediately looks into her eyes. I grin and follow her steps, staring into Adira's chestnut coloured eyes. But I obviously do it just to infuriate her.
"See." I say. "Iam looking straight into your eyeballs. Is it deep enough or you want me to look even deeper into your eyes?" I ask sarcastically.
Immediately Lizzie bursts out laughing. "Celestia!" She wheezes. "look what you made me do! Now my connection with Adira's eyes is gone!"
I snort with laughter."Well then maybe you should try looking deep into her soul that way you won't lose connection."
"Yea I think I'll do that." Elizabeth looks into Adira's eyes once again except this time looking more soulful.
"Guys!" Adira snaps. "Iam serious here and I expect you two to take this seriously too!"
"Looky here Adira." I snap back. "That whisper threatened to harm us. You think we still wanna go near it?"
Adira huffs. "What about you Lizzie?"
She hesitates before answering. "I don't know, it's like I want to find out but I don't want to find out at the same time ya know?"
"But-" Adira starts to say but I cut her off. "You know what? Adira is a little right."I turn to her. "If you put it in that way then I guess I do wanna find out what made the whisper."
Adira exhales in relive. She turns to Elizabeth.
Lizzie holds up a hand. "You don't have to say anything," she tells Adira. "Cause Iam in too."
